Great news for the WBSS, not so good news for Hearns and Matchroom

Surely Adam Smith will be thinking twice about their "exclusive" deal?

No Matchroom shows of worth coming to Sky in the near future either, we have a show on July 6th without a main event and thats about it

Goes to show that there is a demand for quality boxing from the wider public while not being forced into having to pay twice for it through subscription fees then extra PPV fees. Not the garbage they put on with this next gen bollocks, and mismatches between the lower tier British journeymen and 'prospects'

These clowns wouldn't get away with showing amateur film productions and C list movies on sly cinema so why do they think they can do exactly that with boxing on their 'premium' pay monthly subscription service.

    Shocking news.

I think Eddie is signing Taylor after the tournament, so if he wins he will have a genuine star which will be his
    saving grace in that respect.

I personally think that what happens with AJ and Whyte this year, could really impact on the Sky relationship.

He desperately needs Whyte to win as he does AJ of course, but he also needs to secure the Ruiz rematch
for the U.K for the PPV numbers. Sky will not be wanting to have to take the hit again with another US PPV IMO.

My question would be will Hearns sign Josh as a Sky or DAZN fighter?

I can't see Taylor leaving Barry mcguigans to be promoted by Eddie. Don't forget he's trained by Shane and if u leave one mcguigans you'll have to leave them both.

Hearn’s days are numbered as a top tier boxing promoter and I really believe this to be the case. He has ****ed it with Sky, pissed them off so clearly that Adam Smith, who is usually so mild mannered and OTT with his hype, has even been conceding in interviews that the recent standard of domestic Sky shows has been poor.

Sky will **** Matchroom off at the end of the exclusivity deal and are probably making legal moves now to wriggle their way out of the deal. They’ll open up their platform to other promoters and move away from exclusive deals.

Hearn will then put all his focus into DAZN and DAZN will probably launch in the UK. However, by this time Joshua will have been knocked out four or five times and probably retired and Matchroom have no one else of serious commercial worth to offer DAZN at the same calibre of Canelo and Golovkin.

We’ve seen that no major US (Jacobs aside) or UK fighters (e.g. Fury, Saunders) want to sign with Hearn. There’s nothing to suggest that Hearn would be able to add stars to Matchroom to box on DAZN. As a result he’ll become a peripheral figure on DAZN while real Dons like Hoya and DiBella take charge at DAZN.

I see a bleak future for Hearn without Joshua. Matchroom will end up going into rugby or some other **** sports.

I don’t think he’s going to be sweating at all. They cancel his contract and I’m sure they’ll sue them for breach of contract.

Anyway in light of the news it’s good news for us as fans. Hopefully forces Eddie and Franks’s Hands to put better shows on. The last two years have been poor from both.

Hearn mentioned it on IFL a couple weeks back. He said that Cyclone were open to a co-promotional deal. Hopefully McGuigan holds firm and gets a good deal. For all the hate he gets he’s done a great job in steering Taylor’s career so far and he should continue to be involved.

Hearn mysteriously showed up at the WBSS event Taylor headlined, no doubt to try and make an approach to sign him by meeting him after it. Wouldn't surprise me if he does sign him as if he continues putting the work in, Taylor will be world level.

It’s happening mate. I don’t know if It’s going to be a co promotion or not, but Taylor is going with Eddie.

That card was so good I travelled up to Jock Land for it and a cracking night of boxing.

No messing about - 2 World Title Fights with all 4 fighters sticking their zeros on the line in fights where the outcome was uncertain.

No spin needed to sell tickets for genuine boxing fans unlike the dross headlined by Pudding Whyte at the O2 for another example.

Dubios v Gorman a cracking fight as well not on PPV so why does Eh Day think it acceptable for Pudding Whyte to be PPV in a non title fight.

Matchroom Boxing are full of spin and shyte

Barry hasn't got any fighters to build a card with Taylor anymore, pretty much the only one left. Hearn has said itll be a co-promotion deal, Barry seems pretty keen on it by the interviews after the last fight.

Shane is pretty much a Matchroom trainer now, all his guys are with Matchroom.

    Its pretty much inevitable.

The ticket prices for comparable seats for the WBSS in Glasgow were about 1/3 of what mugths will be paying in the O2 for the Pudding Whyte Card

I'm surprised because it's a show that didn't get the bull**** treatment from sky. I'm delighted because it shows an appetite for real boxing in the UK.

WBSS, Warrington/Galahad, Dubois/Gorman all far better than anything Eddie has put on.
