(WOW) Josh Taylor WBSS was the highest viewed boxing on Sky Sports this year: Hearns Sweating?

The Eddie Hearn hatred is bizarre and fanatical. He is a talented promoter so he will probably succeed in the US. He is massively disadvantaged there, but still seems to be doing ok.

 

Taylor is good as done deal a matchroom fighter. Shane pretty much eluded that taylor will stay on the biggest platform and its US (DAZN) ties he will get those big fights.

I remember Eddie talking a year or 2 ago, and he said hes contractually obliged to put on a minimum of I’m sure he said 4 box office events a year. He absolutely doesn’t help himself, but when you have no PPV worthy fighters anymore he’ll stick dross like this on.
Let’s not forget Sky also have the final say. They agreed to the Whyte card being box office. I didn’t think they did, but Eddie asked for Eubank Degale and got told no.

Think Eddie has bitten off way more than he can chew atm. He’s a smart enough fella I’m sure he’ll get himself out of it.

 

There's absolutely no evidence that he will succeed in the US. When he announced his DAZN deal he named the following boxers as his top signing targets and promised to deliver them: Wilder, Charlos, Santa Cruz, Davis, Hurd, Spence, Porter, Thurman, Danny Garcia and Mikey Garcia. He actually named these guys to attract their attention and boasted that he had more money to offer them than any other platform in the US. The cherry on the cake is that he even said:

"This is not we're coming to f--- everybody. This is we're going to have a lot of fun and we have money never seen before in the sport of boxing. I can't fail. If I fail here, I'm a disgrace. That's the way I see it."

And guess what happened... He didn't sign any of these guys. He's had one show that can really be described as a quality show, which was Joshua-Ruiz and that was because a massive upset took place.

The whole Matchroom-DAZN link up is centred around Joshua. They don't care about any of the other UK/Irish Matchroom fighters except for maybe Katie Taylor. When Hearn had a lunch meeting at the home of DAZN's billionaire majority shareholder Len Blavatnik, he brought Joshua and Freddy Cunningham with him. That tells you what they are really interested in. And it's all on a knife edge now after Joshua's loss to Ruiz. If he loses the rematch it could be it for him. His commercial worth plummets and what else does Hearn really have to offer DAZN except for Katie Taylor, Daniel Jacobs and a few prospects?

No one is doubting that Hearn is a talented promoter, he is a very skilful and astute businessman who would probably do well in any type of Commercial work. However, he has delivered far short of what he promised to deliver so far for DAZN and the quality of his domestic Sky shows has plummeted dramatically. Not only did Joshua lose but a good few of his domestic prospects who he wants to front the Sky shows have lost too, such as Fowler, Gill and Ritson.

I'd go as far as saying that Ruiz v Joshua II is "do or die" for Hearn. Joshua loses and he has very little to offer DAZN and his US venture is on life support.

That is not "bizarre and fanatical hatred of Hearn" it's simply a harsh reality.

A lot of the hatred is unwarranted, I think he has been great for British boxing over the past few years but there's no denying since the DAZN deal he has been treating British fans like ****.

 

Difference is if Hearn signs Taylor fights like his last one will be in America or on ppv. Shows such fights can be on Sky without need for ppv to finance it.

Eddie has to be careful as it appears he has spread himself very thinly! The 2 biggest forces in US I.e Arum and Haymon are not exactly friends but by the fact they are apparently willing to do business in making Wilder v Fury rematch could indicate they are worried about DAZN? Sky also must be concerned that the uk Matchroom offering is playing 2nd fiddle to Eddie’s US venture. Coupled with the AJ defeat Matchroom’s UK stock has taken hit.

 

Yes maybe a co promotion but Taylor would still be with cycl9ne and that's not to say Barry won't pick up some more fighters.

 

Hearn will be more ****ed if whyte ppv bombs next month with aj doing the re match in the states as well. Isn't Hearn suppose to deliver 4 uk ppvs a year??

 

I am sure Hearns already dabbled into rugby league?

 

his stable has gone to **** over the last year or so, he should be more concerned with that than trying to branch out into italy and wherever else his ego is taking him.
