I cancelled HBO after game of thrones was over no use for it no boxing no thrones it was a no brainer.
Yeah I know, but only occasionally, they both have a revolving panel of commentators, with him being one of them, he's the min guy on ShoBox.
I said from the outset I wasn't going to subscribe to DAZN or ESPN+, and haven't...and even when I eventually can afford to down the line, still won't. I will, however, re-add HBO to my cable package if they resume showing boxing.
I haven't, I watch The Deuce, Westworld, and Big Little Lies, and I'm looking forward to Watchmen, I also have HBO as a part of a triple play pricing package, the internet, phone and all the cable channels for a little over 200 a month. So I couldn' really get rid of it if I wanted to. For the record, how'd you like the last season? I thought it was great, I'm completely shocked by the outcry ad anger from the fans.
I thought it was good. The popular thing to do now is to complain about everything. People are mad because the show didnt end the way they wanted it to which is ridiculous. I will probably get hbo again when the game of thrones prequel comes out.
Same here.. it was as close to a perfect TV show as you're going to get, and the final season, while it had a few things here and there that loonies who hyper fixate on every little detail may have an issue with, it was as damn epic as TV gets, especially when viewed in conjunction with the 7th season. and yeah I despise that tendency in our society with a vicious passion. And can't wait for the spinoffs either. Here, I wrote a mini article covering my thoughts on GOT in the GOT discussion thread in the Lounge you might like. https://www.boxingforum24.com/threa...iscussion-stays-on-this-thread.621344/page-36
No, When the writers ran out of book material to go on it turned to garbage. The majority of character decisions made in the last season went against most of the character development that happened before. Previous plot points were completely ignored and thus became effectively filler. And the ending was rather disappointing overall. But the quality started dropping in season 6 anyway.
Yeah... well, I strongly disagree. Because I don't give that much of a **** about George R. R. Martin, and I'm not a purist, I was entertained, and fully appreciated the decisions D&D made, and thought they wrapped the whole thing up perfectly. And that's all that mattered to me. Yeah sure, my one gripe is, it was a little rushed, but goddamn, that's to be expected, the show had already come close to bankrupting HBO to begin, budgets matter.
Not to sound like a complete moron but boxing just isn't the same without HBO boxing, also Lampley, Kellerman and Jones. Very strange no longer having something in your life that has been a part of it from the time you were a kid. Waiting in anticipation all week for the big fight on Saturday night deciding what food you were going to have and in my case not inviting anyone over because listening to the broadcast team was as important as the fight and you just couldn't have a bunch of half drunk azzholes drowning out the sound. As many of you, when HBO decided it was done with boxing, I was done with HBO and it will not be back in my house until boxing returns.
The production quality was better, yes, but it’s also that boxing fights on TV were rarer, so almost any big fight was a special event. So maybe it’s just that now we have too much of boxing already.
