For an ordinary fighter they might not work. Ever notice that Duran had the greatest right hand lead the ring as ever seen.? Not only timing but his quickness with that shot was uncommon. He didn`t telegraph it and it left a mark wherever it landed. Duran had great speed and reflexes. He would use feints to get Mayweather to open up then fire.

Chavez Sr had a great land right also, but he threw great counter straight rights too, he hit Taylor with loads of thosse counters in their bout and eventually dropped him wit a straight right, Floyd never faced any fighters that could throw straight rights as well as Duran and Chavez except that Mosley caught and hurt him bad with a straight right, so that could could be telling indeed.

Diego Correles was a very good fighter, but Duran was better. Corrales may have been able to beat DeJesus and Buchanan though.

Floyd is a fighter and he likes large #. He would get in the ring with Duran if the price was right. Once the bell sounds he would be in for a new experiance. He would have a savage in front of him who is just as quick as he is and he had the same ring IQ Floyd does if not higher. By the mid of the second round he may be asking what the hell am I doing in here? Back the Bentley up!

Both those guys would box Corrales. He was dangerous if you stood with him. Buchanan and DeJesus had mobility and footwork. I think it would be pretty one sided.

Chavez had an excellent right hand. Good timing. He didnt have the God given speed of Duran though. Could you see Chavez landing right leads on Prime Sugar Ray Leonard? Note the way Duran holds that right glove up by his chin already half turned. Like he is turning it overt already. He is the only boxer I have seen who hold his right hand like that.
Check out the right he hits DeJesus with in their rubber match. I thought he broke his neck for an instant. Then he started to crawl to the ropes and accept his execution.

That's your opinion and I'm ok with that. However in my opinion that's wrong and a disservice to Duran and the all time great performance he had on that night in Montreal . Leonard didn't beat his own ass in Montreal my friend. If you believe Leonard fought the wrong fight that's reasonable. But to come off like Duran had nothing to do with his victory in Montreal is very bias of you in my opinion. The strange thing about it is Leonard not once made any excuses. And in my opinion that loss made him a better fighter and set up his victories over Duran in New Orleans, T. Hearns and M.Hagler. In my opinion Leonard is the 2nd best welter in history, and a true ATG. He is also one of my favorite fighters (favorite?) He proved his greatness in the ring against some of the best fighters in history when they were all in their primes. He doesn't need any excuses for the loss in Montreal. He more than made up for that slip.

Leonard waited till it was safe enough for a rubber match at what Super Middleweight? Duran was 38 years old. Leonard won it on points but he walked out of that ring looking like he had just fought 20 guys. Nasty cuts over both eyes and blood pouring from his mouth. The old man still had some pop.

Chavez would have landed plenty of right hands on Ray if he stood toe to toe with him, but he was quicker at lightweight, that was his best weight.

Great vid. Palomino said that Duran never attacked him in the same way twice and the video illustrates that variety very nicely.

Chavez held his hand by his chin in the same way, ready to parry or throw, he landed more right hands on Talor than Meldrick did on him, Taylor`s right hand was far more sloppy than his lead hand and held too low to parry anything.

The video proves absolutely nothing. There is already a misconception from the start in comparing Chavez to Duran. Obviously, Duran has the right idea in attacking Floyd's body just as Castillo did. Only difference is Duran is in a different class that Castillo (who was a good fighter).
