Don't think so. He had bad camp for Glowacki, lost his long time coach who was good friend of him and now training with a bum coach. I am not sold on Briedis. He's not that good anyway.

 

the bell freaking rang for 20 seconds. I have never, NEVER, seen something like that before. It rang nonstop. 20 seconds. Not only briedis should be DQed, but this freaking referee should be banned for a life from boxing.

And I will tell you more, it is not only a matter of who won, it is a matter of security, and a matter of fighters health. If what happens in this fight is not a DQ, this sport has BIG problems. HUGE PROBLEMS actually.

 

IMO his bad cheting behaviour inside the ring is reason enough to turn against this clown. Cut open Gevor with big headbutts and elbows, no another elbow on purpose. He's a cheating **** and hopefully gets STOPPED sooner than later for his cheating. But let's see. Dorticos fight hopefully NOT in Riga though.

But any person who loves this sport, knows that this is a DQ, only braindead fanboys would defend otherwise.

Next time a fighter ignores the bell for 20 seconds because the other guy is dazed, or next time a fighter decides to "soften" his opponent with a raw elbow, and we have a disgrace come here and say how cool is that. This is not a joke to ignore the bell such ammount of time, this is no joke to crack your oponents head with your elbow.

I was at arena and it looked like elbow just grased his chin, didnt land at all and pole started to act hurt and trying for dq.

At that point i understood that gowlacki will be kod u never act like that and try to win by faking.
About the bell i could hear it in the crowd and it was ringing 20 seconds nonstop.

Referee byrd needs to retire.

I need to see replay of that elbow but it looked that it did not land.

 

Robert Byrd is considered one of the top referees in boxing, but that was a real **** show on his part. You don't smack the guy's back, who got elbowed right in the face, and make him get up immediately. You give him his five minutes for the obvious foul. Even if you make him get up, give him his full five minutes. In my opinion blatant elbow strikes like what Breidis threw are grounds for a DQ, or minimum 2 point deduction, with the elbowed party getting the full five minutes to recover automatically.
