That is the word on Twitter. A shame if true I thought he still had a few fights left in him. His career could have been much better he and his team made a lot of bad decisions IMO. I always enjoyed watching him fight so if he is retiring I wish him all the best.
He wasted his career being obsessed with Khan Just when he got to his peak khan signed Alvarez fight and he called Hearn and said "get me golovkin" Well be careful what you wish for as that fight did happen and it ended his career. He'll be remembered most for quitting vs Errol Spence in front of his hometown fans. Yeah, I won't miss him really, decent bloke but frustrating decision maker and wasted his talent.
Well, the fight that was keeping Brook in boxing was their long overdue bout with Khan. And now, when Khan is able to earn crazy money for almost exhibition fights, why would he fight Brook? I wouldn't be surprised if Kell does retire at this point.
He will be back when "the time is right" for the Khan showdown. And by "time is right" of course I mean when the fight has the least meaning to it.
He signed his retirement when he agreed to face ggg, that fight should have never happened it ruined his career....
How would the Spence fight have gone if he hadn't faced GGG? I would favour a Brook win. Not saying he was ever better than Spence but timing is everything and timing was bad for Brook , when he faced Spence.
Shame if true. He had the ability but his career stalled waiting for Kahn and really only took risks when the Kahn fight opportunity was nil. He lost honourably to Golovkin but at the same time it was start of a slippery slope. His loss to Spence was because of his loss to Golovkin the injuries he took etc... Golovkin broke Brook but looking at the circumstances around the fight. I give him credit for it but it cost him
