This vid makes an arguement for Fury having a chance against the legends from the 70`s due to his height and reach, do fans agree?

I currently don't agree, unless one of those "legends" is Leon Spinks.

Fury has alot of chance to prove himself. If he can get Wilder, Ruiz and Usyk on his resume then I think he'll go down as a top 10 heavy.

Then again I heard he plans to retire after the Wilder fight. If he losses, he's outside the top 20 for me. If he wins, he'll probably be somewhere #16-13 for me, especially depending on what Wilder does after.

Fury has the potential to be an atg.

Has nothing to do with what he might have done in the 70's and everything to do with what he does now.

Having unseated an ATG for a title and remained undefeted, he is 65% of the way there. Sadly, and I am a fan, I am starting to doubt that he gets there. He has been in the sport 11 years, and thus far has managed ONLY the one good win against Wladklit, with some decent but not thrilling names in Chisorax2, Cunningham, Hammer and Johnson.

Really, it is not his fault that he was screwed against Wilder, or that Haye bitched out of their fight, but he made things worse by the drug addcition, obesity, by pulling out of the Klit rematch. Add to that pulling out of a Ustinov fight, failing to sign against Price when it might have been a big fight, general inactivity...

I am a fan and hope for the guy. I understand if he wants to rebuild himself a little bit, and I get that he wants to make money above all else. But if he wants to be great, he probably has about 5-6 years to win a Wilder rematch and put together a hand full of good fights. That is really all it will take...and yet we have seen no evidence that he can have a good, uninterrupted run like that. None.

    Good luck Gypsy king!

He sits a long way away yet and the competition seemingly makes such a climb impossible, in my opinion. But everything can change quick and as time goes on. I just don't see him beating Wilder and Joshua (assuming they maintain/regain form) and other top guys as well in order to do so. His second and third best wins are likely over Dereck Chisora. Yes, if you think he is close to ATG level than I would be mighty curious to see your list of 1,000+ ATG's in the history of boxing.

I think if he cleans up this division and ends up with these wins (and maybe some more) he'd probably make my top 10

    Deontay Wilder
    Dillian Whyte
    Andy Ruiz
    Anthony Joshua
    Oleksander Usyk
    Joseph Parker

But do I think all these fights get made? No.

Annoyed thing is ,yes he's got the potential to be an ATG , but for one reason or another he may never be in those fight s to show it . Much could have been the same about Bowe .He had the star quality and attributes to be a great But of course ,it didn't pan out that way .
But who knows ? Time Will tell .

He has the potential but we won’t know for a while. Cleaning out the top contenders would be a great start. I wouldn’t put Fury in the meteoric category, so I would assume he would need to stay on top for a number of years.

The consistency over a long enough period of time would be my biggest concern. Whether he would beat a number of atg’s is another question, I think he would beat some.

If he beats all these guys that would be far better than most former heavyweight champs CV`s.
