Did you see how much Wilder/Fury PPV did? His fight with Shwarz will do low numbers because no one knows Shwarz out of Germany. I don't know what these promoters and matchmakers think by making fights like this.
The heavyweight championship bout, broadcast Saturday on Showtime PPV, will surpass 300,000 buys, multiple sources told The Ring, with the final number expected to come in between 320,000 and 325,000. That figure doesn’t include British PPV buys or digital purchases on platforms such as Playstation 4. The fight was also available in movie theaters. If the estimate holds up as numbers continue to trickle in, it’s a rousing success for Showtime and PBC. The break-even point for the pay-per-view was 250,000, per sources. That means any buys over that figure is upside where Wilder and Fury stand to earn more than their guarantee. Wilder and Fury fought to a thrilling draw at Staples Center in Los Angeles. The rematch figures to pull in even bigger business. It was each man’s first foray on PPV in North America. Wilder produced two knockdowns of Fury, including one in the final round, but couldn’t finish the Brit in one of the most memorable heavyweight title tilts in recent memory. At over 300,000, Wilder-Fury is one of the most success pay-per-views of the decade not involving Manny Pacquiao, Floyd Mayweather or Canelo Alvarez. https://www.ringtv.com/549226-deontay-wilder-vs-tyson-fury-tracking-at-over-30000-pay-per-view-buys/
Joseph Parker will face Alex Leapai on his return to action at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center in Providence, Rhode Island on Saturday June 29 live on DAZN in the US and on Sky Sports in the UK.
Houmzz does a great job of keeping us informed about the CW and HW divisions. We should appreciate it.
No wonder that nobody says how much Joshua/Ruiz jr did on PPV because it was a failure. Ruiz Jr is displeasing to watch because he is overweighta and looks like a teen. All that flab is burning my eyes. Actually, I got sick watching Parker/Ruiz Jr fight, two plodders trying to outpunch each other in a borefest. And Joshua is not popular in US as well judging by his Showtime numbers. As talented as Ruiz Jr he is horrible to watch because of his looks, weight issues and terrible, boring persona. Actually you want to fall a sleep when you are watching him talk.
Looks like Fury/Shwarz was a complete failure on ESPN+. Can't expect big viewership numbers with match up like that. They saved money on Fury by picking low cost opponent. Maybe they will pick even lower caliber opponent next time, you never know with people who save money on wrong things.
Ilunga Makabu showed shaky performance against Kudryasov. Think he will be ko'd against better fighter in coming fights.
So, from my understanding Tyson Fury have three promoters. He is promoted by Mick Hennesy, Arum and Frank Warren. This is hilarious if you ask me. He is minimazing his income by having deals with three promoters, terrible terrible decision. Even if he have two promoters it's terrible choice because he is denying himself higher income.
What makes you think hes promoted by Maloney? Lol Maloney is now living as a woman and is not involved in boxing anymore. You might be getting him mixed up with Hennessy. Its just Warren and Arum atm for Fury I think.
