Rumours in the Boxing Circle that Joshua could leave MatchroomRuiz

If Joshua takes a rematch with Ruiz and gets sparked again, he will need all the promotional help he can get. Cos he certainly wont be getting 70/30 splits, demanding overly generous rematch purses etc. His ppv value will fall through the floor too. I have nothing against the bloke, but he really needs to get his head together and try and get his belts back asap, cos if he doesnt - they will remain with either the Furys or Haymons stable for a long while.. and the punters aint gonna stump up those ppv;s to provide him with the bigboy millions he has gotten used to.

Then again, maybe he has enough P's in the bank and is already looking to cash out - still young, faculties intact, with his looks and his brains. All before he is 30. Not bad.

 

Too much sense there for the haters.

 

Shame he's wrong. Put it another way, if Hearn was the maestro some claim him to be for AJ's career, why did it all go so spectacularly wrong a few weeks back at the most important step up to date?

Hearn and AJ both needed and benefited from each other. AJ for Hearn's dad's connections to Sky and Hearn himself for his nous at sussing out the "new media" model of social media and Hearn needed Joshua to be the literal face of MR boxing as a brand. Who else was he going to use as a symbol, David Price?


The REAL gift to AJ and Hearn was the 2012 London Olympics, without which none of the last 6 years would have happened.

 

Unless I'm mistaken, I think McCracken is his manager, as well as his trainer.

 

I think leaving Hearn would be foolish.

Hearn can sell **** to the PPV mugths, and fights like Joshua vs Pudding leapai for the Commonwealth title is coming after AJ loses to Ruiz again.

Hearn can put stuff like that on ppv and get away with it so if I'm AJ I'm not leaving hearn

Is that you @_Scott_ ? I noticed this new account likes to make up boxing rumors and having insider sources just like yourself. Who could forget your ''credible sources'' which informed you of Price vs Takam and whyte vs klitschko being possible for April 13th in Wembley.

 

Those talks did happen though ... The Klitschko Whyte rumour was after my post officially confirmed by Steve Bunce.

Was Ruiz the most important step up? I think you're only saying that because he lost. Martin and Klitschko were arguably bigger steps up. Whyte as well perhaps.

Hearn must be doing something right. Joshua's a fairly boring, mundane bloke and in a few years he's become the thirteenth richest athlete in the world in the last 12 months.

 

Ruiz was the most important because it was going to the USA, Without the help of crooked British refs and judges all of them filing into the changing room pre-fight "don't worry AJ we have your back out there, if you get in trouble we will help you out"

He left his lair and got flattened in front of the American audience. And made to quit.

It was his first real test and he failed.

Fury done well though so props to him.

 

Feels like this has been floated around for an age. I don't see it personally.

His career isn't make or break at all either. He's god a solid record and most of expend effort deriding how fighters are protective of their 0, let's not suddenly write someone off at any sort of level because of one loss. AJ was never an elite HW but he's still plenty good. And I say that as someone who was buzzing hat he got iced.

 

People for some reason have routinely assumed Joshua is the first heavyweight in history who's career would be over with a loss. It was obviously more wishful thinking than anything else.

 

His career is over because he was nothing more than British hype.

His chin was exposed, his lack of skill and heart too

He quit in humiliation after realizing he could never hope to be half the man the American Ruiz was

We all knew he was just Bruno 2.0 but brit casuals wanted to belive he was superman and would dominate America.

That will never happen.
