To an extent you're right, as even now, with both looking pretty shot, the fact that both are shot makes it at least potentially competitive. People would still pay to watch Calzaghe v Froch if it took place this year.

But it's hard to think of a fight which should have happened but did happen when both are quite as far gone as Khan and Brook, both of whom now look like the sort who could just totally unravel at any moment. I'd certainly watch it, but it's definitely lost interest in a way that something like Mayweather Pacquaio or Lewis Tyson didn't.

Trust me, when the first bell rings in a Khan v Brook fight, there will be just as much intrigue as if the fight was 3 years earlier. It always happens. People always saying they're sick of the wait, they're not going to watch it and then it gets announced and everyone turns into giddy little schoolgirls.

Of course I want to see it. Will it happen? Absolutely not. Khan ducked it 100%.

Oh I'm not saying I won't watch it. It will still be absolutely massive. But I will also accept both are significantly worse than they used to be, to an extent that I don't think there has been one of these slow burn, long wait, should have already fought type fights featuring two more shot fighters than these two. (If it happens of course.)

I'm not sure it's necessarily a duck so to speak. I think it's genuinely a bit like the Hatton Witter situation. Khan may very well have avoided Brook, but it's not really an obvious duck if he's ended up fighting the likes of Canelo and Crawford. Also, he was a massive name quite early on; Khan was fighting the likes of Malignaggi and Maidana, plus Collazo on Mayweather undercards, when Brook was scrabbling around trying to look good against the likes of Carson Jones.

I always thought a prime Khan would have been intriguing against an older Floyd. I don't blame him for chasing the fight. If Floyd can give Maidana two cracks at him and face the likes of Ortiz and Berto I don't see why Khan shouldn't have been considered. Brook needed to stop chasing Khan and create his own legacy; he fought in an era of top class welterweights and fought very few of them. That's got to be partly his fault as well.

No point anymore. Khan killed it with his stupidity to the point its not really worth watching anymore. Two guys that need to retire imo....both going nowhere. Should have fought four or five years ago.

Khans embarrased himself over it to the point its tarnished his career. Hes now been fighting guys no one wants to see anymore when thd clear fights been brook. Canelo, algeri, collazo, crawford. Was there any point in them fights. Everyone knew canelo and crawford would batter him. Algeri etc. No ones been that interested. Garcia basically finished his career. Since then everythings pointed to a brook fight.

No. Let us get to see Pacman in the UK in a fun fight with Khan.

I hate the thought of Khan getting his hands on 40 year old Manny Pacquaio. He didn't deserve a shot when Manny was prime and he doesn't deserve a shot at the legend now. Although Pacman probably still beats him which would be extremely embarrassing for Khan and subsequently enjoyable for the rest of us. Khan's career is a joke though. Nothing of note since the Maidana win and a calamity the last few years. Chap is only 32 like. He's been retired seven years as far as I'm concerned.

Guy has had an excellent career. Hardly a joke.

I can see this being made as neither has anywhere else to go realistically and Hearn/Sky would entertain a PPV at either the MEN or a (smallish) football ground.

Quite smart of Khan to get a fight on terrestrial TV to remind people he’s still out there before cashing out one more time.

Can you tell me why Algieri, Horn and Broner deserved shots at Pacquaio but Khan didn't?

I never said they deserved a shot.
