Is it Hearn who won’t pay the dough or sky? We know that sky demand x amount of PPV’s. They’re the ones who supply the budgets for non PPV’s too. Same with BT. They supply budget for normal shows and they expect x amount of PPVs back too.
It is Hearn ....Listen i think Hearn has done wonders for uk boxing but in the last few years ,perhaps since he got the AJ PPVs rolling in ,he has gone billy bigtime....The SKY shows are awful ...MTK youtube shows are much better these days.. Anyway good luck to Campbell ,i think he will give Loma an actual fight.....It is a shame it wasnt in UK especially as Loma wants to fight here....Would have been a brilliant chance to see what could be a GOAT
It’s not Hearn. It’s not Warren. It’s Sky and BT. Hearn and Warren haven’t got the backing from UK broadcasters to compete with the US market. It’s as simple as that.
WHAT!? The absolute shite they put on PPV and they’d knock this fight between two superb boxers back. They’re clueless then.
As correct as you are, this fight doesn’t sell to the casuals. Whyte sells as he’s a heavyweight and they can promote it with AJs and Wilders name around it. That sells. How many would Campbell Loma do seriously. 100-150k at best. After paying the fighters and the relevant parties I don’t know how much would be left. It’s hardly Asif either are household names. If I was Sky I’d probably turn it down as a PPV, and unfortunately the budget wouldn’t be big enough for a Saturday fight night, they’d do their bollocks.
You’re probably right but if it was in London and less Hull people could attend they’d probably do close to a hundred thousand there. Then throw in all the proper fans and the casuals who will lap up the Sky hype which could sell sand to an Arab. I think it’d do ok.
No it doesn't....if its a great fight that could lead to a big rematch and extra dosh.... The type of deal that Hearn turned down from team Wilder about a year ago lol
I know there is money in America, but surely even if it's in the UK the American TV rights would be worth some money, DAZN and ESPN would both be interested
I can only see it going one way but good luck to Campbell, he deserves a fight of this size and I hope that he gives a good account of himself, like he did against Linares.
