What world belt will it be for? Presumably one that is to be vacated by Usyk?

Okolie is gonna be a problem for most cruiser just because of his size and awkwardness but its not that fun to watch. He neglects his jab way to much for such a big man but he would probably beat lebedev the problem is after lebedev there are some world class cruisers who were in the shadow of usyk who will come out to play.l, especially of the fight is made for a vacant world title.

I’d say go for it! Lebedev is at the end of his career and Okolie has a pain in the arse style for anyone at cruiser. Simple but effective and he’s hanging with heavyweights like whyte and fury no problem.

All depends on how much Hearn is willing to spend to bring lebedev over I guess

He should 100% take the fight, Okolie is going to be very hard to beat imo.

I don't know... I don't think Lebedev lets a grown man get away groping him. I can see a brutal beatdown here.

Think he should go for it, awful to watch but he’s a handful for 95% of cruisers IMO. Was an interesting bit on New Age Boxing podcast this week about the situation regarding his trainer. Wonder why he didn’t go with the Sims camp like a lot of southern based Matchroom/ex GB fighters do

Lebedev would knock Okolie out and show the difference in levels.

Lebedev would obviously be favourite as would Kovalev vs Yarde but both are heavy punchers, you’ve got to dare them to be great. I really hope both of them take the fights and I hope they both win.

British boxing is on its arse, we could do with some more world champions and improving our boxing scene of a Saturday night and bringing more top fighters over.

It's quite a jump up from the level he has been fighting at.

I wouldn't have a problem if he had fought one or two European level cruisers first. Which is what would be ideal before throwing him into this.

He's got the ability and power to win, but we haven't seen him have to take many shots, be in a physical fight etc. That's why I think it makes sense to just get tested a little in the above at Euro before fringe / world level.

The leap at light heavy and cruiser from domestic to world level is huge.

I’m all for it happening and Okolie is game for a challenge, but I could see Lebedev picking him off.

Okolie isn't pretty to watch however he is effective and has done very well at domestic level and it's time for him to step up, world level may be too soon however this is a great opportunity to take on Lebedev who is at the end of his career. Its a tough fight but I see it as a win win for Okolie.

Okolie has been made mandatory for European. The champion Yves Ngabu is trained by Dom Ingle so it would be an easy fight to make.
