People have spoke about AJ having a massive reach advantage over Ruiz, his reach is 74 inches, could any fighter that had a shorter reach than this have also beaten AJ?

Joshua lost because he got outboxed... Not because of some physical attributes.
Marciano was a damn T-rex, he had no issues boxing his opponents.

Christ almighty mark, enough with the shitty threads. They're near carbon copies of other threads you've already made half the ****ing time to boot!

This guy might be the worst threadmaker in the history of internet forums. He's not even a troll—just a terrible poster.

I know, it's absolutely dire. I don't know why the mods don't have a cap for threads, if you're spamming the forums with them you should lose your privilege to create them...

That´s... thats not the point of it.
FFS, Paul Williams had 79 inch reach. He still got outboxed Quintana, Martinez and Lara.

Reach is vastly overrated. Yes, it´s good to have a reach advantage because it makes some things a bit easier. But it's not some magical stat that makes one invincible.

Break down how reach was a significant factor in the Joshua-Ruiz fight.

My point was eactly that, if Ruiz with a 74 inch reach could beat AJ could an opponent with an even shorter reach than that beat him, kinda setting a president here, then I counter can a 68 inch armed fighter also beat AJ or would that be a bridge too far? Do you see where I`m headed, I happen to feel Marciano was awesome by the way.

Mr Ant is a thread workhorse and should be given some credit. His style is high volume, grinds down his opposition and forces them to post.

As for the reach issue, it depends whether that reach stat is a lie from Ruiz's camp or not. Given Ruiz's biostock, it's highly unlikely he has long limbs for his height. His height is listed as 74in/6'2, highly dubious, and the reach goes with it. If the height is inflated, so is the reach.

Dawejko is listed as having a 70in reach, equal to his 5'10 height. Ruiz's reach is probably closer to that.
In any case, if the rumours are true about Joey D, it might mean a 70in middleweight reach can definitely cause AJ trouble.

There we go.I'd confidently pick Tyson over AJ. Hell, if old man Povetkin was giving him a boxing lesson then Tyson would certainly land his bombs. And the reason is, AJ's footwork is just not that great. Reach doesn't help if you don't exploit it.

So the bar is now 71 inches imo. ;)

These threads are as unbearable as the Pac-Mayweather ones we had from 2009-2015.....give it a rest already.

    Joshua lost. Ruiz won.

If it was a fluke, we will find out in the rematch. If it was a legit victory then we'll find out again.
