yes we all know Usyk is talented! But he pulled out of his heavyweight debut because of injury snd now he is becoming the number one contender for The Wbo title??? He hadn’t even proved he can take a heavys punch!!! https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.bbc.co.uk/sport/amp/boxing/48738582
I thought it had been a rule of the WBO that an undisputed champion who move up a division is an automatic mandatory to the WBO champ in that division. I may be wrong.
You should do a bit more research before making a thread like this. https://talksport.com/sport/boxing/...z-jr-vs-anthony-joshua-rematch-dillian-whyte/ And Usyk being the mandatory isn't news. It was talked about months ago. I think it's a good rule. We want to see the best facing the best. Even if they are from different divisions.
This content is protected Yeah nobody was complaining when Crawford moved right up and fought Jeffrey Horn for his world title in his debut at 147.
How is he even the best or considered the best in heavyweight? Whyte is more entitled to that mandatory!!! So he unified a shitty division in cruisers eight? He should at least campaign once! He pulls out because of injury then his team proceeds to file for number 1 status and says he is not injured anymore ♂️
Straight from the WBO Regulations (https://www.wboboxing.com/regulations/): "... ELIGIBILITY TO BE CONSIDERED FOR DESIGNATION AS THE MANDATORY CHALLENGER IN HIGHER OR LOWER DIVISION. If requested by a Super Champion, the Championship Committee may designate the Super Champion as the mandatory challenger for the immediate higher or lower division. ..." But somehow it is "real corruption".
It's a longstanding rule with the WBO for goodness sake and Clenelo fans are the last group of fans who should be complaining about corruption lol
Wtf are you talking about? This is obviously some personal bias here. I never said Usyk was the best at heavyweight. He was king at CW. Meaning he is one of the best fighters in the world. The WBO has a rule that the undisputed champ can challenge any other division's champ. Champ vs champ. The two best guys(according to WBO) going at it. Fact is that Usyk has been the mandatory since he unified the CW division. There is no corruption here. Everything is accordance with the WBO's own rules. If you don't like the rules, sure, no argument. But don´t drag some BS personal bias into it.
Calm your ass down, Ruiz vs Joshua 2 has to actually occur first, and that won't happen until probably around November or December. In the meantime, Usyk will probably be cleared to return by August or September and will fight then, and in all likelihood against Carlos Takam. There for setting up the super fight for spring of 2020.
By the way, a couple of days ago Krassyuk (K2 Ukraine) said that in the light of the WBO resolution a fight vs Takam is not a priority anymore.
Oh well, there goes my whole theory up In smoke. Although I have a feeling this some way somehow Ruiz vs AJ will go through, too much money to be made on the rematch for it not to. And in the meantime Usyk will probably still face Takam.
