I'd lay so much money on Roy. A jabber never bothered him. Tunney is totally outgunned.

I could see the logic of this being a dream fantasy match and I would definitely want to see it myself but I think it loses magic, as a fantasy match up, as we know who won

This would be, at least one of the top 3, most entertaining suicides I've ever watched.

Tunney was so much more than just a jabber though.

Zale was a middleweight, we are matching lightheavies here.Mills lost to those you named so what is the point of mentioning them?
Conn would stop Mills imo he was significantly better than Maxim who beat Mills up.Mills doesnt impress me at all ,all he had was heart ,he was lucky to get a title and only did so because Lesnevich's people saw him as a soft option while they dodged more deserving contenders.Lesnevich avoided his best challengers and I don't think much of him either.
But that's just my take on things.

A 71% ko record indicates that you are right!

Even based on footage - he was complete package. He was probably more complete fighter than Ali and nobody would say that Ali was just a jabber.

Not to mention that you can't beat Greb with jab alone.

Sugar Ray Robinson briefly fought at light heavy, corner threw in towel due to heat exhaustion. So, I’m gonna go with Ezzard Charles vs Ray Robinson. I’d have loved to see footage of the Greb-Tunney fights but none seem to exist. Bob Foster vs James Scott, the prison fighter. Archie Moore vs Bernard Hopkins, a battle of the ages. James Toney rematch with RJJ at light heavy.

That's true and I get how that could come off as dismissive, but I'm thinking about my next article and don't need yet another hypothetical fight playing out in my brain. Will respond in essay format on Friday. Remind me.

Michael Spinks vs. Thomas Hearns would be a good fight.

I think it would be something of a mismatch.

That's a fair point, but for me, even knowing the outcome - I'd love to see this clash of styles in action. It remains a "fantasy fight" for me in terms of the viewing experience itself. And I will celebrate merrily if/when some filmed version of one of those bouts surfaces.
