Loma told Bob Arum to send Mikey the contract for the same purse that Loma was to get. But Mikey turned it down and wanted more money than Loma.

Dude don't you know why Garcia left Arum? He was upset with how much of a the pie that Arum was taking from his fights. So he left Arum. Loma has no choice, but to accept Arum's large cut because he's contractually obligated to do so. Arum told Garcia this is how much I'll pay you to fight Loma and Garcia said no.

Ask anybody who knows about this stuff. What I posted was true. I can't find any link online. People don't typically go around writing about the micro details of a fight negotiations.

 

I think Loma tools them both, but there's enough people making noise inside boxing circles that the Haney and Teo fights are going to be more viable than they ought to be (not unlike Rigo - had so many "boxing people" not favored Rigo and saw it as a duck when Loma blew him off, we wouldn't have gotten that fight). To be fair, they're not talking about the Teo fight happening until after he (presumably, but not a given) beats Commey in the fall, and that fight as unification makes sense.

Tank claiming to be a 130 pounder is one of the worst jokes in boxing today...he can't even make weight on the first weigh in anymore. It's a fight I'd like to see, but it's not worth Loma putting the rest of his career on hold with to wait on. I'd rather see him go after Berchelt or roll the dice at 140 after unifying 135 if Floyd keeps playing games there.

I'd rather not see another year of the Crollas (no offense to AC) of the world taking up a fight spot, but I'm expecting a better 2020. We'll see how it plays out.

How could anyone think that Mikey didn’t duck? He left the division, vacated his belts when it was the only fight to be made at 135. He chose to lose to Spence instead of Lomachenko, anybody being honest knows this.
Mikey ducked Linares as well, contract and offer made and yet Mikey fought some bum at 140 instead of unifying 135.

 

Mikey wanted no piece of Loma. It might have been because of Arum, hard to be sure.

Loma can unify 135 and 130 but he'll be hard pressed to maintain all the belts at one time. He's probably too small for 140.

I just don't want to see Loma fight bums like Crolla. He could always take a risk and go to 140 if he really wants that ATG status. His resume is extremely lacking as of right now compared to other ATGs and HOFers.
