July 20th in Gelendzhik. A rematch 8½ years in the making. 12 rounds @ light heavyweight, to which division Vlasov returned only last month after embarking on a 12-1 run at cruiser for over three years. Chilemba has, on the other hand, consistently remained at 175lbs since the first encounter with Vlasov - ironically, his debut at the weight after moving up from super middle.

Vlasov is rated #8 by the WBO at cruiser (yet to reappear in the LHW rankings) and Chilemba is ranked #10 by the WBC at light heavy. Last time Chilemba was dropped twice in round eight but rallied to close out a tight unanimous decision win in a 10-rounder (scores of 95-94 and 96-92 x2).

Vlasov if he isn't drained. Actually don't agree with him going back down. He was great at CW with a good chance at winning gold sue to the division opening up. Actually got screwed over against Glowacki. Bogus knockdown called against him, hit on the break, rabbit punched. Very close fight that could have very well gone his way with fair officiating.

This is actually a rematch that makes some sense. I'll be pulling for Chilemba again, and damn I never would have guessed his name was Miguel

If he does avenge the loss from 2011 and the fight is competitive we might be able to milk the rivalry for a high-stakes rubber match...perhaps even an eliminator (although Chilemba is only barely top-10, in just a single org, while Vlasov isn't currently ranked at the weight by anybody...)

Is Chilemba EVER allowed an easy fight?

It appears he's just put in with killers every single time.
