Wilder couldn’t box with Ortiz, but he was able to survive whilst setting up his right hand. Ruiz would apply more pressure, has faster hands, and is probably more capable of taking Wilder’s right hand than Ortiz so I’m not sure he’d be able to do the latter but I think his reflexes and speed might allo him to the former. Ruiz’s gameplan would alter the outcome of this fight a lot. If he goes fro straight pressure I think he breaks wilder down and stops him late or wins by Wide UD(draw on the judges cards obviously). Alternatively, he could come looking to set traps and catch Wilder more like Ortiz- turning the fight into more of a shootout. This favors Wilder more, I think Ruiz could still pull it off, but he’d probably have to be able to take several of Wilder’s right hands to get the win.

I'd bet pretty heavily on Ruiz. Wilder hits harder than Joshua, but Joshua is a far better boxer and superior in every other sense across the board. Unless Ruiz beating Joshua was a massive fluke, he'll pick Wilder apart if they ever fight. I'm prepared to put real world money on that.

I think that's like the second or third time I've ever strongly disagreed with you.

I don't think Ruiz is really a banger but he does have excellent hand speed. He's like Tubbs that way.

The Ortiz that couldn’t sleep Christian Hammer or Travis Kauffman? Yeah sure. Be a hell of a fight if was the Ortiz of 4-5 years ago I’m sure, now not so much.

It's Dummy hour again on boxingforum24......

Straight from Ruiz's mouth.......not internet gospel or other "experts"...........even before he faced AJ, he prefered Aj out of the 3 due to styles.....the Bodybuilder does not fight tall, likes to trade up close, has no upperbody/headmovement combined with bad stamina, close to zero ring IQ and a poor chin that recipe plays right into Ruiz's hand.............and it played out EXACTLY how he anticipated it minus the knock down.

In contrast, Wilder and Fury fight tall at range, rarely trade up close have good long jabs, have pretty good Ring IQ, good chins and no stamina problems.........Fury has endless feinting.movement......Wilder has instant game changing power while being highly unorthodox......and both DO NOT QUIT when pressed.

Ruiz does not have enough pop to end fights quickly, is too game and easy to hit for Wilders firepower and will not be able to draw Fury into a fire fight so the chances he wins against those two is slim to none.

Tough fight to call. I tend to lean towards Ruiz doing the better work and winning most of the rounds but I think he will be there to hit when Wilder chooses to unleash, and Im not so sure he's able to withstand them.

I have it 50/50 because I just dont know how well Ruiz will take Wilders power. If he can take it... I think he wins a decision or late stoppage.

If he cant take it I think Wilder comes from behind to stop him in the 8th or 9th.

IF like Fury Ruiz can take wilder best then he would out box him pretty easily (like fury)..

Wilder would get the win though cause the scorecards would be pre filled..

Wilder's ring iq is not impressive. He does have confidence in his right hand and is patient. Before the Joshua fight, I thought Ruiz would give Wilder some tough moments. I still think so. However, the real key is if he can take the power of the right hand. Wilder does not have the best chin. Would bet on Ruiz. It is a toss up for me.

Ruiz showed he could get inside which would be the end of Wilder. Butterbean Ruiz could beat Wilder given the chance. Wilder has struggled with worse than Butterbean Ruiz

Wilder by KO. Wilder would keep Ruiz at a distance. Making him a target for the jab and straight right hand.
