See, this is exactly what Wilder cannot do. Because 1) Wilder has no footwork and 2) Wilder's jab is average at best.

I dunno what Wilder fights these guys have watched that have turned him into Wlad, but in virtually every fight I've seen of his its his big right hand that threatens guys to behave and really nothing else. Ruiz appears to be unafraid of taking shots, so he's going to bore right in and turn it into a close up slugout. Wilder could still win that I guess, because he really does hit hard - but the odds have to favour Ruiz who has faster, more accurate hands and fights better close.

To be fair he did that in the first Stiverne fight, so there's at least a blueprint to how he can beat Ruiz, even if it's not the way he normally fights, or has fought in the last few years.

I'd definitely lean towards Ruiz though. Wilder would have to fight a really cagey and smart fight to beat Ruiz, and try to catch Ruiz with a quick right hand down the pipe and then finish him off. He's shown he's capable of doing that, so I wouldn't rule him out here, but it's not a fight that I would confidently expect him to win.

Deontay is a much better mover than Joshua. He won't just stand there like a big stiff idiot, and let that behemoth blob pound him down. Will look similar to the first Stiverne fight. But I predict a devastating late TKO.

Stiverne is a cut below Ruiz imho. Who is Stiverne's best win? The ghost of Arreola? Ruiz has a somewhat more solid track record and he seems to me to be much more dynamic than Stiverne.

If Wilder was smart he would very much implement a jab and move game against Ruiz, but I've seen Wilder outboxed too many times.

Ruiz is definitely better than Stiverne, but he has the same tendency to plod and react against taller opponents, which Wilder can exploit a Parker did.

Wilder's really inconsistent as a fighter. Sometimes he gets outboxed by complete puddings, then the next fight he surprises everyone with his ability to shut down world class operators. He definitely has the reach, the handspeed, the footspeed and the reactions to make things really difficult for Ruiz if he chooses, and the power to hurt him and put him away if he catches him, and in those things his success will lie. It'll mostly depend on him how the fights plays out.

To be fair, Wilder's quite consistent in the sense that he usually ends up knocking his opponents the **** out or beating them into submission for a TKO.
Even if they are puddings who completely outbox him for a few rounds.

I said it before the Joshua fight, Ruiz and hunter both beat Joshua or wilder. Styles make fights.

Ruiz is better than Stiverne, but Wilder is better than Joshua.

Wilder moves around. He doesn't stay stationary. Ruiz likes to come straight forward, which is what leaves him open for the straight right hand. Don't act like Wilder can't punch with both hands because he can. The right hand just happens to put u down with one hit!

Who got smashed around the ring and got an extra time out against Old Ortiz and who got comprehensively outboxed by Fat Fury?

Joshua may be "better" but styles makes fights. Wilder Will def keep him away with the jab, setting up the right and BOOM! i mean, you really believe a short armed guy will beat Wilder
