As we have agreed, Foreman should be the clear favorite.

I suspect that Marciano was a lot stronger than Frazier, and that he would have beaten down the versions of Frazier, that were put in front of Foreman.

When Foreman destroyed Frazier, nobody ever truly got over it!

That's a huge call. You can see Frazier pushing and pulling on Ali, who was bizarre in his physical strength. To be fair, Ali kept Frazier under close control (illegally) in II. It can be difficult with these merrygorounds.

And of course, Marciano can't really be seen overpowering anyone that Frazier couldn't have handled in 1970 and 1971.

Frazier didn't do well bumping up against Bonavena the first time but by the second fight he was more nailed down and he actually got the better of that encounter. It was Bonavena who had to run from the ropes. Bonavena was a strong man. I'm not sure who the equivalent would be for Rocky. Maybe Louis?

There is circumstantial evidence that Frazier was not very physically strong.

The Champions episode for a start, and the testimony of his trainer.

Marciano's opponents often commented on his physical strength.

My mind is wandering in the direction of thinking that Marciano was stronger!

I'm not interested in any of that Janitor. I'm interested in what he demonstrated in the ring. Foreman was stronger; Ali shared some honours. He was stronger than Bonavena. This is a strong 200lb man.

I don't say Marciano wasn't stronger - he really could have been. But he was definitely a size smaller and i'm not sure what one could point at to prove it.

Yeah, Yeah. Yeah. Small guys coming forward always have no chance against big, taller punchers.

    Remember Andy Ruiz?

Foreman might have even got knocked down but Rocky would have run into that uppercut sooner or later. Done.

That said, I consider Rocky a greater ATG overall. Not by a whole lot.

How many of Rocky's opponents were in their prime and Bowe's size?

This might lead to the most telling factor in a dream matchup. Rocky mostly beat fighters past their primes.

Rocky did have some serious heart though. Walcott clocked him hard more than a few times and look what happened.

Yeah tiny little Andy 6'2" and 268lbs 21lbs heavier than Joshua. Fast hands and a 74" reach. Excellent comparison to 5'10"185lbs, 68in reach Marciano! lol

Champions Forever? Elaborate on that for me.

Foreman is the only fighter that had success against Joe with either pushing or grappling. We know that George had uncommon strength. Frazier wasn't lacking in strength. He beat men who outweighed him on a regular basis fighting the same way. Frazier's strength came from his legs as did Marciano's.
I can't say your wrong in judging Rocky stronger. He may have been just as strong or stronger. Regardless I suspect it's was probably marginal.

Jersey Joe Walcott was said to be very strong.

I believer hat one sparring partner said that he was the strongest man that he shared a ring with, apart from Liston.

I am sure that Foreman was stronger, but I think that Marciano was strong for what he was.

Both strong and at times very tricky. The shot that put down Marciano was sweet but nasty.

Walcott was 38 years old so not in his prime,he was also 6 feet tall ,and 196lbs ,so on all three counts he does not qualify.
Marciano was undoubtedly a strong 185lbs guy,but he wasn't fighting modern giants.
