Holmes schools wilder Joshua and Ruiz, Fury he may have alittle trouble with, but he still takes the fight pretty comfortably

Mercer's chin was ridiculous. The definition of a tough guy. Let's see Ruiz fight more than 2 good guys before proclaiming him tougher than Mercer. He might do great things yet, but it's a bit early to say he walks on water.

You clearly don't know what you're getting at, so how would he?

Holmes' win list is solid despite missing a few names. 40-4 Norton, 54-6 Shavers, undefeated Cooney, Witherspoon, Williams, Mercer, future champs Bonecrusher Smith, Mike Weaver and honorable showings as a geriatric against Holyfield and McCall.

Ruiz has the great win over AJ and a close loss to Joseph Parker and that's about it. If Ruiz gets blown out or schooled in his next few fights then some posters are going to have egg on their faces, considering the amount they're hyping him at present.Likewise if AJ gets destroyed by some other lesser light as well.

To be fair though Andy Ruiz's story is yet to be told and it might be best to watch and let his career play out for (hopefully) the better or worse.

Off the top of my head Larry beat Witherspoon and Berbick, who both beat Greg Page (Berbick also beat Pinklon Thomas); he beat Weaver, who beat Tillis and Coetzee (the latter of whom beat Dokes),

I'm sure those in the know already knew these examples. It amuses me when people stridently challenge assertions I've made that are easy to check up on.

Or maybe @Sting like a bean just doesn't like me, which is too bad as I have nothing but respect for the majority of his posts.

Not sure what possessed people to challenge me when all they had to do was look it up.

Larry these days says he's the greatest, which of course is highly debatable in the face of champs like Louis and Ali (and possibly even Holyfield and Lewis). Imo he's not far off from any of them.

He's certainly not ,in my eyes at least .
The guys u mentioned against Holmes ..
Ali v Holmes ,Ali would win but I really believe that Holmes gives him one of his hardest fight s .Ali wouldn't spook him and he's facing a fighter with a great jab and Chin .
Maybe Ali by slim decision .
Holmes v Holyfield . Obviously prime Larry. Hard fight again but Holmes drops him in the last couple of rounds and stops him .

Lewis v Holmes .Oh man , what a potentially hard ,sluggin fight for LH , he'd have to really take some shots here !
    I'm undecided tbh .
Holmes v Louis . I've always thought that Larry and Ali are the worst men for Joe to face .in this matchup I can see a Schmeling type loss for Joe , dropped early , pummeled by Larry over the course of the fight and finally stopped .
I know any fella fighting Holmes has to be at his best to beat him !

That's a very fair post and I for one will be cheering for Ruiz in the AJ rematch. He seems like a genuine person.

I've not disputed that. He IS a solid fighter. What I do say is that its a little early to start proclaiming he beats Larry frickin Holmes based on his one big win. I like what I've seen so far. But his career has to mature for judgement.
