What about Charley Goldman in Rocky's corner?

It shows. Lack of deep understanding of American boxing history. See this time and time again.

I like Futch as the master of strategists. Don't get me wrong, Frazier is quit one dimensional anyway (which takes away options) but we can rest assured he'd be fighting the right fight.

joe edges out Rocky. If joe beat Ali he can beat Rocky.

Rocky’s right hand beats Frazier’s hook to the punch which ends the fight. Joe was a very slow starter and Rocky’s corner will know this going in. An early night would not surprise me here.

Frazier won 32 fights,of those 5 were 1st round kos,5 were 2nd round kos, and 4 were 3 round kos.
    That's a total of14 stoppages inside 3 rounds out of 32 wins!
A further 4 were inside the 1st 4 rds which brings it up to 18 wins out of 32 inside the 1st quarter of the fight.
He doesn't seem that slow a starter to me! lol

This one is tough for me, because Rocky had a lot of heart. I can't imagine Joe's hook not triumphing, but I think the Rock would shine here in defeat.

Frazier tended to wear people down more than one-shot kayo them, which means Rocky would have the chance to get his shots in.

I see the Rock winning some rounds, but Joe was just too relentless. TKO in 10.

It’s well known Frazier was a slow starter. He did not start “smoking” until the 5th round typically.

Sorry ,as I have shown in my last post ,the facts do not bear this out, it's just lazy repetition of a statement that was made by a commentator many years ago, Gil Clancy I think it was.I repeat 18 stoppages inside 4 rounds out of 32 wins is definitely not the record of a slow starter
He took longer to ko fighters later in his career simply because he was fighting a better class of fighter, allied with the fact that he was an attrition fighter to start with!
ps I hope you are looking for verified sources for those Sharkey quotes you posted?

Joe Louis was also considered a slow starter “out of the blocks”. Look on page 298 of “50 years at Ringside”.

Being a slow starter has nothing to do with being able to stop low level talent early. Study up!

Joe Louis was not Joe Frazier.

Again being able to stop low level talent early has no bearing on whether a fighter is or is not a slow starter. You can find comments of Frazier being a slow starter everywhere in his historical record. Don Dunphy makes reference to this during Ali Frazier 1 just as one example of hundreds. You argue about topics that are very well understood Boxing 101 terminology.

None of those fights have anything to do with Frazier being a slow starter. Frazier being a slow starter is and was widely understood. You need to ask yourself why you don’t understand well known, well written aspects of boxing history.
