AJ, sure. Ruiz on the other hand would hold his own. Ruiz is a throwback fighter in the classic Mexican style, highly skilled yet aggressive with intention.
Super appreciate what Ruiz did to Joshua, trust me. For the purposes of this question, and as us being boxing fans, 99:1 Wladimir. You pick Ruiz, you're stupid. If Ruiz dominates for another 5+ years, we can revisit.
I agree AJ is total useless trash, little more than a bum but Ruiz is a potential ATG. He proved that by beating AJ.
So he has proven to be a potential ATG based on beating "little more than a bum?" Odd logic but hey if it makes sense to you.
Wlad obviously deals with him the same as he deals with any short tubby fighter. Jab them to death. The fight would be a mismatch.
Wlad has already beaten a near-carbon copy of Andy Ruiz Jr before. Here is that fight against THAT opponent: This content is protected That's pretty much exactly how I predict Wlad vs Ruiz Jr to play out. And no, Ruiz Jr is no better than Ruslan Chagaev. Chagaev is just as fast, has just as good head-movement, is just as durable and etc. Joshua made Ruiz Jr look better than what he actually is. Wlad would make Ruiz Jr look exactly how he made Ruslan Chagaev look like.
I agree with the thread consensus. Wlad loved fighting little short stacks that he could jab and either grab or run away from. His dimensions and footwork and quality of jab were such that he could dominate these guys with his jab alone. Yeah, it was pretty boring to watch him systematically jab them 650 times in the face but, it was certainly effective.
I wasn't here in this forum during Wlad's prime years, but was he getting all this forum praise back then too? Or just casuals being casuals?
