The treadmill - learning how to retreat? Then Ruiz will train how to keep attacking then? At least he's trying. Makes for a better rematch.
This. Joshua needs to go back to the basics. All of this goofy CrossFit training is good for the cameras I guess, but doesn’t benefit Joshua at all once he gets in the ring.
Can he learn to fight tall and stick only to the One-Two ? Sure he can. And that is why this is a 50/ 50 fight. But don't underestimate Ruiz
Unless they are giving him a heart jaw and lung transplant he aint winning no rematch. Pudding ruiz will ko him again
Joshua made a critical mistake first time and tried to go for the KO before it was available for him. After he got clipped it all went south for him. If he can keep Ruiz at the end of his jab and strafe him at range I see no reason why he can't win. Ruiz isn't brilliant at closing distance on a taller fighter that uses their height and reach. His main strengths are duking it out in the trenches.
Unfortunately, as sickening as it sounds, Joshua is probably going to win. With the dust settled it's obvious the counter left changed the fight. In a sense it was one punch. It happened only when Ruiz had taken a heavy KD, about to be finished, and a wild exchange followed. Before that Ruiz wasn't dominating. Ruiz won only after almost getting taken out! If Joshua hadn't gotten into a close quarter exchange after the KD, would Ruiz have won that fight by KO? If not, he loses on points. If Joshua does what he did in the first fight up until going for the kill he can probably win the safety first decision. I hope Ruiz can pressure him and get to him, but Joshua does know how to fight quite safely and he can land big shots like that too. And even if Ruiz entices close exchanges, this is not some secure path to victory when you're exchanging with a KO specialist who almost finished you last time! It's best people prepare for the worst here, because destroying Hearn-J via Riaz x 2 sounds too good to be true, which means it probably is.
We can see what his game plan is. Jab, retreat, keep distance, outpoint while moving backwards. I hate that negative style but it is the only way Joshua can win. I hope Ruiz can catch up with him.
He looks really slim here. Can't be more than 240 lbs, more like 235. Ruiz finally beat some sense to his head that huge bulging muscles don't win you fights.
Here in this forums is full of specialist i just wonder how much of this guys even step in the gym, forget about step in the ring and training boxing even at mid level. Joshua team is not made of just 1 guy, there is a lot of people arround him, who knows boxing and what he needs to win the rematch and how he needs to train. How the f**** in the blue world you expect him to move on a Treadmill? Sideways maybe? Did you really think Joshua only train to move straight back? This is the dumbest thing i ever heard. Even 500 bucks semi-amateur trainer in a regular gym knows how you needs to move backwards and it should not be always done in straight line. But even if you train by the top, top tier coach you will still train such drills when you punch, punch, move back in a straight line and repeat. And this is just a small highlights, did you really think this is all the Joshua training? Every smart one will keep in secret what exactly he is training and he is preparing for the fight. From all the training footage so far after the lose, it`s looks like he is training the right areas, where need to improve. This content is protected
