    17 ****ing minutes?!?!?!

    You make excellent points...

    :D

The only thing I disagree w/ is Thurman's perceived lack of heart and passion. Injuries are serious business. Look how long Andre Ward was away from the game. For all we know, Andre Ward could be a Doom addict or play League of Legions 8 hours of the day. Just because Thurman posted a few flute videos doesn't mean that he abandoned boxing in those 2 years. He never really got super fat during his lay off. Did he look a little rotund? Yeah, sure. But that's due to the lack of ability to train during his recovery. And it's not like he parties, drinks, and acts a fool in public like Spence.

Look, Thurman is a cerebral guy. He's sometimes an obnoxious dummy and can be very corny with the jokes, but he's very articulate and intelligent overall. The guy knows what's at stake just as much as the next most determined boxer. Thurman's one of a handful of boxers who I think could enter college right now (maybe not a Top 50 university) and do well. Thurman's gonna be in the best possible physical condition for this fight and he's coming to win. Will he run? Probably. But it's only because he's determined that running and potshotting is his best path to victory.

HOWEVER, like I mentioned elsewhere, Pacquiao will be the smallest dude he's ever fought. Ever. And he's pushing 41. Thurman definitely knows this. Maybe Thurman's gonna test his balls and try to walk Pacquiao down.

I think the one mistake Thurman might possibly be making is the belief that Pacquiao can't hurt him. Or that he's ready to cope w/ the speed or angles. In my opinion, he won't be able to and the only way he wins is if Pacquiao got old overnight or he catches the old man w/ something big.

    Pacquiao by KO.

Don't disagree with anything you said, although I do think Thurman may have elevated his consciousness so high, Boxing doesn't mean quite as much to him as it used to. It happens. Granted, Manny phones it in a well, but Manny phoning it in is better than most fighters who are 100% focused. So if you're not 100% into this sport anymore, and get in the ring with the Pacman, he might just eat you alive.

    Agree - good points.

    For my predict, it will all depend on what Thurman comes up in the ring ( as we already know what type of Pacman will be there) ;

    - If a Run Time Thurman shows up, Manny via SD
    - If a One Time Thurman seriously mixes it up , Pacman late Stoppage
    - If Thurman hides; Pacman by DQ win

Final result - One Time Thurman, One Time Loss

You gotta remember, though—Thurman's got a chick that he wants to spoil and I'm sure that he wants to be as wealthy as possible before his career is over.

I agree that Manny isn't as dedicated as he should be, but he could be that rare individual who NEEDS to be very busy and can't enjoy relaxation. I really, really, really dislike his public workouts. There's like hundreds of people following his ass around and he's always got different people in his core group training. They're like guest workout buddies.

He's entertaining people during and after. It's in all the videos. He spends a significant amount of time signing autographs and taking pictures and then his massive cohort go back to his home and he entertains them some more.

Watch the fight camps for GGG or Lomachenko—it's the same 4-6 people around at all times. Completely locked in.

It's absolutely incredible how Pacquiao managed to become what he has in boxing with all the extra BS.

I don't understand why people are picking Manny to win by KO. He hasn't stopped anyone of note since the Cotto bout, and yeah you can say he stopped Matthysse, but Lucas was very over the hill.

Thurman will be the least durable guy Pacquiao has fought since David Diaz. Two old and shot fighters almost KO'd Thurman—Collazo and Josesito. Now Thurman's fighting a guy with handspeed and footwork that he has never seen before. We know that Pacquiao badly hurts, drops, or stuns every single person that he fights.

And Rios, Algieri, Margarito, and Horn were all fights that Pac could have easily gotten TKO victories over that nobody would protest. For some reason, Pac has to kill someone to get a KO.

I want to say Thurman who I think has a lot of strengths that play into mannys weaknesses but with the layoff and Lopez performance I'm not sitting so safe on that pick

The flip side of that is it allowed his injuries (and overall physical health) to recover. Ward was gone for a very long time and he looked his best after he came back.

Yes but he was rusty vs Lopez and ward is a phenom a level above Thurman

I think what makes the fight tough to pick is it's a little tough to measure both fighters forms coming in

I'm just saying... At high level boxing, time off can do wonders for letting the body heal. Keith said he fought with an injury in the Garcia fight... That probably lead to more injuries.

I know for a certain that Thurman is more durable than Rios, Algieri and Horn. Secondly your giving too much credit to this version of Pacquiao, he went life and death with Jeff Horn for crying out loud.
