Expecting to see a lot of Winning ms-600, rival rs1, top boxer custom, Casanova........ I'm going back to the gym for the 1st time in.... A while. I'd been dealing with hand issues my last 4-5 and the best gloves for my hand -- its been about 10 months to a year since I stopped -- was the 16oz ms-600's. Anyone got any sleepers? Anything new out there(please don't give dinardo a shout out, not paying $800 for training and sparring gloves)?

I use Evelast but then again, I have been lucky to avoid hand issues. Every fighter I know that have had problems with the hands use Winning and love them.

I am using Rival for a couple of years now and i like them. Got the RS60V for a while now. Using it mostly for sparring. Very good! And i had some issues with my wrist a couple of years ago but it works well for me. Got two other pair of gloves (RDX & Paffen Sport) for the bag and pads.

Reyes always made my favorite competition gloves, but those days (both age and hand issues) are lobg gone. Ive heard good things about theor trainers though, that use that foam that lasts 300 rounds or something like that. Anyone here ever use them? If so, did they protect your hands and wrists well?

Winnings velcro has mediocre wrist protection in my experience, which is the weak point for me. Never used Reyes but I've heard good things about the training gloves.

In terms of sparring gloves, I like Casanova and Boxeo. Winnings are technically the best imo but as I am not a pro and just box for fun, I just don’t feel like they are worth 3 times as much as Casanova or Boxeo. Fly makes really good sparring gloves too but again they are really expensive. I feel like Grant is overrated and overpriced. If you like Grant though, you should try Hernandez Brothers gloves. They are about a quarter of the price and rumor has it that they actually make Grant’s training gloves (just with higher grade leather that Grant provides). Topboxer is another really good option at a lower price point. In terms of bagwork, I really like Cleto Reyes and Profesional GIL (formerly known as Zepol) but I find them a little stiff for sparring. Everlast MX and Elite Pro Fight Gloves are my favorite competition gloves and work great for pad work. The Everlast MX training gloves are supposed to be good for sparring too but I must confess that I’ve never actually tried them, so I’m just going by what others have told me about them. And then of course Rival makes several good bag and sparring gloves...I just find them kind of ugly to be honest.

There are several other good Mexican brands too. Campeon are similar to Casanova and work well for sparring...just be aware that the thumbs are unattached unless you specifically order them attached. Classics is a good brand, similar to GIL / Zepol...a little stiff for sparring imo. Boxeo TM makes quality stuff...they have different models for sparring and bagwork. Then you have New Sporting, which is a relatively new brand that has gotten somewhat popular recently. However, people have been complaining that their wait times have gotten really long and that their customer service is bad. They also manufacture gear for other brands and have been rumored to make gloves for Grant (along with Hernandez Brothers aka HDZ Champs, as mentioned in my earlier post). They were working with No Boxing No Life at one point but had a falling out and accused NBNL of stealing their designs and molds without proper compensation. NBNL is Eddie Reynoso’s brand that Canelo uses. New Sporting has also had some quality control issues recently. However, I’ve really liked the New Sporting gloves I’ve had. A few of the Mexican brands I would avoid are Seyer (their older stuff is good, however), Palomares, and Solo.

A new brand that everyone is raving about is DiNardo, which are handmade in Italy. These gloves are supposed to be amazing but they are super expensive, with many models running over $1,000. Their cheapest model is around $600 to $700 I believe.

Winning. I tried to cheat on my babies with Sabas (****ING GARBAGE GLOVES - STAY WELL AWAY) but I realised that she is the only one for me.

    We back stronger then ever.

Sabas are junk. They claim to be made in Mexico but I, along with several other people who are knowledgeable about gloves, believe they are actually made in Pakistan. Supposedly they are manufactured by a company called Supreme Leaders out of Pakistan. You used to be able to see all of Supreme Leaders gloves on Instagram and they looked exactly the same as Sabas, just with a different logo. Then people started calling Sabas out on it, and all of a sudden the pictures disappeared from Supreme Leaders’ Instagram page. It’s possible that the original Sabas gloves were made in Mexico but once their business picked up, they switched to a Pakistan-based manufacturer, as they are typically better at handling higher volume than Mexican glove manufacturers are.

I read that article before mate. Upset I didn't read it beforehand. My gloves started lumping up after 2 sessions on the bags. Bro I paid £200 for those gloves. Super pissed off.

Can anyone recommend a top quality hook and loop glove? I have and use a pair of Winning 18oz laceups so something as similar to that as possible?

    Are Rival gloves good?

I always used the ones the gym lent me. I never had gloves of my own, only handwraps and mouthguard.

Since I have always trained in the same gym, I always thought that that was normal. Years later, I realized people use to have their own gloves. None of my gym teammates had them, me neither, as I've said.
