No why? Wilder/Ortiz II is scheduled for Sept. 28, so that would be 5 months left until the rematch...
Just thought that both of them might not want to take the risk of one of them losing and blowing the chance of the rematch. Ortiz may be ancient but it’s still no gimme for Wilder.
I think age is catching up to Ortiz so I expect Wilder to win more emphatically, but the rematch with Fury will require far more discipline from Deontay. Fury already tasted his power, and seems to like his chances in the rematch. If Wilder doesn't develop his jab better and put together an actual gameplan, Fury wins clean.
If Fury stays active and focused, he'll be better than he was in the first fight. I doubt if Wilder's handlers will permit him to take this rematch, he's been matched very carefully and they won't want to cash him out just yet.
Can't see what Wilder can do better than he did in the first fight, where 60% version of Fury clearly outboxed him and won at least 8 rounds (10 on my card). I think Fury will win every single round in the rematch and stop Wilder in tenth.
