After Tyson Fury outboxed Wilder with him in the corner I was his biggest cheerleader. The guy was ridiculed at the start of Fury's comeback, just some chancer who Fury likes everybody said, whose credentials were impressing Tyson by asking women for their phone numbers. He proved people wrong. Gotta say that the guy has started to believe his own press since then though. His attempts at sounding like some 26 year-old combination of Manny Steward and Eddie Futch are wearing thin. He is way too keen to take credit for everything Fury has done on his comeback. Criticising the gameplan and cornerwork of a guy like Rob McCracken. Quotes like ''I'm a perfectionist''. Is he piggybacking on Fury like Issac Lowe, a world class coach, or something in between?
No. He has over 20 Boxing YouTube channels sticking cameras in his face everytime he goes to an event or press conference. He just gives his opinion. Of course he could turn them down though. I don't mind him.
Meh he has a bit of a smug air about him I suppose, but he is OK really. Talks very well and is very knowledgable for a guy of his age. He also seems to make a point of showing respect to other trainers when he speaks of them in interviews. Hes alright by me.
In my opinion he was wrong and Freddie Roach were right about tactics during the wilder fight. I think he's alright especially for being so young but I don't think he's a genius like some do. Having Fury be your fighter is the way to go if you want to look like an amazing trainer.
I agree but he should be highly praised for two things. Firstly by not trying to reinvent Tysons style as many coaches would do for their ego, and secondly and most importantly by helping Tyson enjoy boxing again.
I don't find him annoying in the slightest. He is a talented young trainer and he has always came across as a decent bloke in his interviews. He is doing wonders with Fury, seems like they have a great bond and I can tell Davison genuinely cares about Tyson.
He doesn't annoy me because I don't listen to him but I do think I want to see what he does with somebody without Fury's gifts before I drink the koolaid.
I think there is a fine line with the cocky stuff but I kind of like his confidence, it’s reasuring somehow. It’s like he is saying to the doubters “don’t worry I know what I’m talking about”, but he could be in danger if overdoing it I guess, but if he’s getting decent results... seems to have a good head on his shoulders in general though and no doubt has done a lot to keep fury’s mind on track.
Only opinion I have is he was getting loads of **** from everybody after Saunders and in the fury Wilder build up. So let him be a smug little twat. Everybody deserves it!
I don't mind him to be honest. What I found hilarious though was during the Wilder fight when he was being told to sit down after Fury got decked, him shouting I know my fighter better than anyone!!! Think peter would disagree...
