This content is protected A ****ing debate amongst fans about who should get paid more, Smith or Saunders. @305th as you’d imagine full of football fans with stadiums/players in their cover pics. Instead of instigating a debate about money why not start a poll about who would win in a prospective bout and why? Michael Benson nonce alert.
I hate how he now gives little quips and digs when reporting news The absolute knob jockey Some on here seem to worship him
This winds me up to be honest, i always remember seeing Espinosa of showtime (i think ?) debating boxing fans around viewing numbers and always thought thats ridiculous, i dont give a crap about viewing numbers either a fight is a good fight or not ! Thats all i care about as a fan.
Fans should not be concerned with figures or fighters purses. It is nothing to do with us. I don't care if Peter is getting a guarenteed figure to fight Paul, all I care about is seeing the fight and hoping it lives up to my expectations!
Fans of other sports do this. Good price for that player, so and so isn't worth it, to get a striker who scores 15+ that's what you need to pay these days and so on. All the people who moan about this sort of thing also seem to be fans of the sort of boxer who can't draw flies. I'd love to see Saunders v Smith get made as it would be a good fight, but if the sticking point is Saunders moaning about wanting more money so be it. Back to Stevenage he shall go.
Totally different situation Fowler and you know it. Football fans are stakeholders in their clubs. They pay thousands every year on tickets and merchandise. They have a serious interest in club expenditure for that reason. Some may also be actual shareholders. Boxing fans are not stakeholders in boxers interests. Idiot.
Loads of football fans watch from an armchair, same as boxing fans. As long as unpopular, boring fighters keep demanding too much money this problem will prompt discussions. You don't have to join in.
I can’t be arsed entertaining your pathetic attempts at trolling but you know that football fans support their clubs in a different way to boxing fans supporting their favourite fighters.
Some do some don't. And yet here you are getting increasingly annoyed in a thread you started about a subject you apparently don't care about. Well done.
If the fans got the fights are that wanted (and needed) on a regular basis there'd be a lot less talk on here about numbers and politics because we'd all be discussing the big fights but because of greed and politics from promoters, networks and fighters we're getting one fleecing operation after another.
I don’t particularly care, no. Is it an annoyance yes. It takes me one minute while I’m resting at the gym or during an ad break on tv to type up this thread at no cost. Hardly means I care. And no not annoyed just feeling pity at the fact that you bum Hearn so much when he probably laughs at how sycophantic you are.
Unfortunately when you discuss boxing with your average Jo who watched the AJ fight or the latest Conor Benn fight, you realise they know absolutely nothing about the sport and just watch it like any other sport because its there. The fight is interesting as it is a clash of styles and no one really knows who will win. But who cares about splits?
Tony loves a purse chat. I agree with your post, people on social media seem like they are happy to not see the fight if it's at 50/50. It's just madness to me. Promoters have won when fans talk like that.
That’s the thing! It’s the fact that they are satisfied at the fact that a fight falls through because they think x should be paid less and y should be paid more. Completely baffling mindset.
