All he needs is just a little more power in his punches and Fury will not wake up, so if he comes in 225-230 , I see Fury taking a long nap.
I think Wilder ices him this time. If it goes to the cards Fury will win but I just think Deontay will catch him out this time and finish him. Just has to shorten up the shots, work behind the jab more and don’t go looking for the KO, be patient like he did in the Ortiz fight before you swing the big right.
He landed 3-4 good punches in the 12 rounds against rusty and out of shape Fury. Adding 15-20 lbs isn't a good idea - it will make Wilder slightly slower and he won't land any desent punches against better version of Fury. Wilder is definitely one of the hardest punchers of all time, he doesn't need to improve his power - it's excellent, absolutely great. But his skill level is very poor for this level. He needs to develope his skills to KO Fury in the rematch, but I don't think he is able to do it because of his low IQ
The difference between Ortiz and Fury is huge. Ortiz was 6'4'' 39-years-old fighter with a terrible stamina while Fury is 6'9'' 30-years-old fighter with a great stamina (and better defense also).
Shame he lands nothing of note though. People go on about the layoff while conveniently forgetting Wilder was 209 lbs in that fight and still put Fury and his haunches and back. Wilder at the same weight he is now is going to separate him from his senses in much more dramatic fashion if Fury lets his guard down for one second. Fury knows this, so expect the same "crowd-pleasing" tongue sticking and waving routine while showboating like some 50-year-old uncle at a wedding. There is a reason why Fury has been magnanimous to Wilder since the last fight and not his usual mind game playing self. TBH, if it's the same biased ass set of commentators declaring a "masterclass" after 2 rounds like last time, I may not even watch it.
Wilder can’t develop something he doesn’t have at this age, so all wilder can do is punch harder maybe more often . This crap “fury was 60% “ it’s just a pure fairy tale for delusional fan boys of fury. If fatso will actually take the rematch and not duck like he did against wlad, there’s a good chance he will not wake up on time. He’s not slick , nor he is that good of a boxer, he’s a fraud ,that’s why I think his overrated ass will get exposed this time
Problem is Fury was in worse shape vs. Schwartz than vs. Deontay. So the assumption that Fury is getting into better shape month by month is clearly wrong. He's regressing as we speak. If you say Fury was 60% in the first fight, it's hard to deny there's a chance he will show up at 40% for the rematch. Or pull out like he has done so many times before.
It’s a total fabrication argument — if Fury loses then he wasn’t 100 percent, because if he was 100 percent how could he lose? It’s a nice trick of the light to avoid giving Wilder credit if he knocks Fury out.
Its good to see Shelly Finkel improving in his role. Only just under a year ago he made it very clear to Eddie Hearn that he could not negotiate the Joshua fight becuase the Fury fight hadnt happened yet. Now look at him go.
Definitely an interesting and tantalizing rematch. The question will be can Fury continue to outbox Wilder for 12 rounds without getting starched or will Wilder catch him again and knock him out cold this time? The two likely outcomes is either Fury by UD or Wilder by KO. Of the two, I think the former is more likely. But this rematch is definitely a must see.
