Some speculate his title loss to Carnera was fixing but no hard evidence exists that this was indeed the case.
I agree it shows a willingness towards objectivity that is singularly lacking in one posters replies.
He showed a remarkable lack of self awareness even if true. Who would post details of activites implicitly praising themselves ?
You both were and continue to be wrong concerning your statements regarding boxing history. It is what it was, not what you want it to be.
Fella you may think you know boxing but many, many here see you as a self promoting fan boy, and think you know jack ****! All of your posts absolutely drip with conceit, condecension, and self admiration. You have a serious personality disorder.
The difference between you and the rest of us here is, we are not here to try and impress and lecture to others about our "historical/hysterical knowledge." We don't have to use self congratulatory phrases like ,"you had to have lived through those times",,"You had to have been around the boxing scene then to understand it " . etc Now tell us in just what capacity you were ,"around the boxing scene in those days" ? Boxer, who did you fight ? Trainer, who did you train? Manager, ditto? Cornerman, who did you second? Journalist which papers/ magazines did you write for ? Archivist ,which organization do/, have you contributed to ? Which of these was it ? Or was it just you, in your Dad's garage running on a treadmill and hitting a bag with the door left open "accidentally",hoping some neighbourhood kids would be watching? ps Did you have a pigeon coop on the roof?LOL
That does not matter. What does matter is you are consistently wrong about boxing history which is what this board is all about. You may want to consider finding another sport to follow. Certainly living through a time period puts one closer to all the nuances, day to day, week to week history that the fan today would not have access to.
So the posters here did not live through that time period? I see you ducked my questions as per usual! NB Any fan today has more access to fight reports, films ,verified quotes, incidental data, than his predecessors before the internet age, that is an irrefutable fact ,an anorak kid sufficiently driven, could accumulate and parrot off more details, more facts than the old achivists such as Hank Kaplan, a true historian of his era ,could ever have hope to have amassed.
Not at all. Nothing matches being close to history as it unfolds around you when you are watching it closely.
Except in this instance Ive been around longer and close to it longer ansd I asked you straight out in which capacity you were involved? You did not reply. In truth you are just a fan boy a wannabee pathetically masquerading as a self appointed historian which you patenlty are not! I told you, I would make you a special project of mine and I have, stand by for endless corrections, and being left standing in your "emperors new clothes " !
