I agree. A lot of those shots weren't landing, even if the commentators were reacting. I could see 48-47 either way, but wasn't a robbery. Disappointing that Jones couldn't stop him. Dude clearly hurt him with leg kicks and had PLENTY of countering opportunities. It was like he was terrified of Santos' power.

Jones is nothing without the juice. One legged Santos clearly outclassed him.

Jones beats guys at what they are best at. He could have taken Santos down and pounded him out anytime after he blew his knee out.

I thought Santos edged it despite the fact he was fighting with a gammy leg for most of the fight that was so debilitating Melon Head Miguel told his manager to contact Dana White ASAP and against a much bigger and longer boiled down HW who is arguably GOAT, was on more juice than the winner's rostrum of Mr Olympia, and he himself is a blown up MW. Santos looked like a freaking Brazilian leprechaun cripple compared to Jones.

Honestly. Kinda the same vs Smith, but Smith just didn't do anything, Santos did something. Jones hestitates all the damn time - pre-suspensions, he would've went in with a much higher pace looking for the clinch and takedowns.

Not what i want, but seems like he is slowing down.

That's 3 fights with out Juice Jones looks hesitant as, OSP, Smith and Santos, he fights hoping not to lose instead of a the juiced killer that dominates everywhere with no fear.

Jon Jones is getting old and his killer instinct is going with his age. Its the same thing that happens to all fighters. He better have an few more then start eyeing retirement before he goes out like Chuck Liddell.

This has more to do with how he's fighting then anything else.
People hate on Jones for a good reason and seemingly hold him to a higher standard as being 1 of the best P4P ever but apart from his lack of output in this fight against the most dangerous fighter in the division he has still looked every bit the best lightheavyweight in the world and there is maybe only 2-3 guys max. in 2 divisions that even have a chance to beat him.

Totally agree with this. Since USADA came in he has looked average against OSP, Smith and now Santos. Smith and Santos are basically middleweights. Jones did look dominant in the Gustaffson rematch though.

I thought Santos won rd 1, Jones won 3 and 4 with rds 2 and 5 hard to call. I have no problem if some scored the fight for Santos who was clearly injured from about rd 2 onwards. Definitely requires a rematch imo.

As you mentioned Jones a lot of the time slowly presses forward without throwing much really. He is clearly not the same off his PED's. I don't think he will ever jump up to fight the big guys.

Apart from the main event UFC239 was full of 1 sided beat downs which is why there was 4 performance bonuses and no fight of the night bonus.
Edmen Shabahzyan who had an impressive win may be 1 of the best young talents in the UFC and may be somebody to watch in the middleweight division next few years

    :risas3:

Both the fight and its follow-up tweets from both guys is the most glorious & hilarious stuff that MMA has produced in years. :deal:

Also, during about midway into the fourth of Jones vs. Santos, legitimately started drifting off to sleep. :nusenuse:

I'm not sure they earned their respectful glove touch at the final bell. Like, guys, you both did nothing.

    Holly, Holly, Holly.

I missed this when it happened live, was reading Lil Butt his bedtime story and tuned in just in time for Nunes' victory celebration.

Damn. I was hoping there was at least some g'N'p involved, as Holm losing a battle of strikes would be worst case and most embarrassing scenario both for her personally and in the role of boxing's "representative". Holly, wtf are you doing with your knee up by your tits??? Kinda not your wheelhouse, hm?

Peach of a kick though. Kudos to Nunes.
