Can Canelo just leave DAZN if he doesn't want to be bossed around by DAZN?

Seems like DAZN is putting the pressure on Canelo to either fight GGG or Kovalev and noone else.

Canelo wanted the Mungia fight but DAZN said f%%% no.

So Canelo just leave DAZN and be his own boss?

If he does he better dig up Johnny Cochran's corpse and perform a zombie ritual that will get him out of that big ass lawsuit thats gonna follow out the door with him. $250 million dollars will make me fight anyone DAZN puts me up against. I bet i you offered that to a Mixed Martial Artist or a Kickboxer they'd fight their sensei if DAZN said so. Only in boxing can you get F.U. money and still act like a sissy, not saying Canelo has done anything like that lately but goddamn sometimes.

I dont know. DAZN and GBP together over Canelo of all people was always going to be an interesting clash so i wouldnt be surprised if there was some get out clause in there. But if there is it will include GBP paying back a hell of alot of money. But im sure both sides could iron out their differences as long as Canelo doesnt start picking bums all the time. But theres plenty of good fights for him to be in even if he wants to go up to 168 or 175.

But GBP and Canelo were always guna be a pain to work with for DAZN. They have been known for it for years.

I don't think he will even have to do that. I think DAZN is bluffing—they can't really force anything on Canelo. How can they force him to fight Golovkin, for example? He will say I'm ready—the fight will be in Vegas. Canelo doesn't really need DAZN, it's the other way around. If only Oscar surely likes all those possibilities to put his fighters on DAZN cards for good money. So, maybe De La Hoya needs DAZN more than Canelo.

What's next? DAZN won't allow DLH to do cocaine and dress in fishnets?
Or no more mexican beef for Canelo?

He could, but he'd be welcoming a lawsuit. Canelo wanted the big money DAZN had to offer, but that offer was contingent on DAZN being able to match Canelo in way that they benefit. DAZN isn't stupid enough to throw away a fortune on Canelo letting him fight guys that the public have no interest in. Mayweather didn't want to fight PAC, but Showtime was losing money and gave Mayweather an ultimatum to either fight PAC and let them make some profit or Mayweather would forfeit the rest of his money left on the contract. This is why Wilder didn't sign with DAZN, since despite the huge money they offer you have to relinquish a good amount of control of your career, which is understandable.

It looks like chicken Dela Hoya and chicken Canelo are starting to have second thoughts. They're only asking him to fight the top fighters of his weight division. It's not like they are asking him to go up to heavyweight. Canelo should just suck it up and fight who they want.

Wilder would not last on DAZN for long time. He would be knocked out very quickly if he would be forced to stop cherry picking.

If Canelo quit boxing due to a lack of desire, he'd probably have to pay back a percentage of the money that he's made through DAZN. However, for the next 15 years or something, he probably can't fight another professional boxing match again under any organization or promoter.

If Canelo quit boxing due to a permanent injury, both parties walk away.

These guys aren't dumb. They look at every possible scenario.

Alvarez can always "retire" but when and whether he could fight again would depends on the terms in his contract with DAZN.
