If they had any cahonas they would have sanctioned the rivas fight as an eliminator but they dont want to throw whyte a bone...just let the rest of the roster get free shots at wilder...

Agree @Twentyman I think Kaboom will start this match the way ended to Jennings match. Whyte is susceptible to being caught cold and hurt early, and back before his eye injury, that's how Rivas used to roll. That being said Rivas has solid defense and can also outbox Whyte with relative ease. But he knows he doesn't have the luxury to play it safe in this match, you can't allow Dillian to get in a rhythm and at least give the impression he's winning rounds, or keeping them close, this is in the UK after all, so he'll go the shock and awe route. Rivas KO 2-4. Rivas is far more heavy handed than he's appeared lately, he has the ability to turn it on whenever he chooses, and it's there early and late.

I’ve not even considered Rivas doing a number on Whyte in the early rounds, but why not? He has proper amateur pedigree, we saw what he did to Pulev in the amateurs. He proper put it on him early doors. He tempts his opponent to open up and throw shots at him because he isn’t bobbing and weaving, he’s audaciously stood right there in mid range with a high guard. He refuses to budge. Yet he times his own shots so well.

I’m going to stick my neck out here, lads. I don’t think Whyte stops him. I can’t predict how the judges will go because we’ve seen on these matchroom shows that they can be a bit daft so i think Rivas has to stop him to win.

    Rivas, TKO.

This is still apparently selling badly. The customer has quite clearly lost some confidence in the product. This will only fuel fighters desire to fight in the US imo.

Rivas gonna start any better than Parker did against Whyte? Is Rivas any faster than Parker? Does he hit any harder?

Nah I don't think so mate.

    Back Dillian all day.

Parker just went 10 ****ing rounds with the corpse of Alex Leapai, and that's after going the distance with Cojanu. I think at this point it's been proven beyond a reasonable doubt, Parker is a bit of a feather fist. And yes Rivas is faster.

I won't be surprised if Dillian Whyte loses the fight but I simply don't have enough knowledge on Oscar Rivas to pick him.

Fair play guys, I wouldn’t be surprised in the slightest if Whyte beat the crap out of Rivas.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Whyte learnt a thing or two from the Parker fight on when to stop exchanging.

Not terribly surprised. I like Dillian Whyte as a fighter, but I don't think he's particularly marketable to the wider public.

It's unfortunate for him that he's the same age and around at the same time as Joshua because Matchroom have made him their goldenboy. It's understandable really; Olympic gold, looks the part aesthetically (this is a big deal for sponsors and for joe public), better fighter (although I think a fight between the two would be close now).

I think there's a lot of boxing fans who quite like Whyte, but see him as a step down from the 'big 3' and don't quite like him enough to buy tickets or a PPV to see him.

Apart from the one on this forum, I don't know anyone else who lists Dillian Whyte as their 'favourite' fighter (unlike Joshua, Wilder, Fury.. even Usyk) and thus won't pay to watch him.

Just my opinion as it's very difficult to quantify - but I actually think he's of a similar level of popularity to Allen or Price.

    That is appalling if accurate.

Matchroom and Sky need a rocket up their a*se; if this bombs at PPV in front of 5k then hopefully this should be said rocket.

Anyone know why when they announced tickets going on sale they started from £40 but just went on the website and the cheapest one is £90+??
