You must have issues articulating yourself. That statement did not at all imply what you meant nor did the conversation prior to that. Are we suppose to be mind readers?

Next time, just learn to communicate better.

So saying a WW is too big for a small lightweight then mentioning Mikey was too difficult for you to put together? I communicate just fine you just need things spelled out for you. Not my problem you cant keep up.

Lomachenko has been fighting guys the same size or bigger than Pacquiao. Linares was 152. Salido was 148. If they fought at 126, 130, 135, 140, or 147, Pac would still be the same size (148-149) on fight night.

Fight night weight is the only number that matters when it comes to the fairness of matchups from fighters in different divisions. If Lomachenko were to fight Crawford at 140, Crawford would be 158 on the night (see Indongo fight). Or he could go up to 147 and fight Pac who would only be slightly bigger than him.

Pacquiao would fight Golovkin or Canelo at 160 if both guys rehydrated only 1-2 pounds.

Serge describes the moment he first became a Pacquiao fan

Granted I had no idea at the time that Manny was on an industrial dose of PEDs and that he was the biggest cheat in the history of sporting competition. However, that was the moment I first became a fan of his.

Incidentally I first became a fan of JMM after watching him haul his ass off the canvas x 3 in the first round against Manny and then battle back to win the vast majority of the remaining rounds.

How much do I love Manny? So much that just like you I'm willing to overlook his serial PED abuse.

You're accusing me of being blinded by my love for a fighter?

And I'm well aware of those ''facts'' thank you very much because I have a Fight Night Weight PhD. FTR, Salido was 147 and Linares might have been 152 but I suspect he was about 145-146 which would be consistent with pretty much all of his fight night weights I managed to find during part of my PhD course in that subject.

No Loma weighs about 138 on average, Manny about 150, Inoue at least 131. Let's start banging the drum for Inoue vs Loma? Man up Monster! Stop beating up leprechaun nonentities nobody even in Leprechaun Land has have heard of.

And size does matter and Loma doesn't possess Pacquiao's PED power or Floyd's Freakish reach and his cosy relationship with drug testing agencies if you catch my drift.

loma is a bit smaller than pac, not just in weight, but mass, and how that mass is distributed. pac has a natural advantage in size. but pac is also way past his expiration date, and loma is in full bloom, so loma has a prime advantage.
i think 138 would be a good compromise, but only this year, next year 140 will be more even.

It is true that Loma has been fighting bigger guys than him, especially in 135 lbs division. However, all of those guys made the designated weight. Linares probably was bigger than himself at the the weigh-in, but he passed the weight.

I don't mind to see Loma fighting a legend like Pacquiao as long as Pac is willingly to go down to 135. According to Pacquiao himself, he can still make it to 135. But the question is, does it work well for him ? The last time I saw him fought in this weight category is against David Diaz, which is probably ten years ago. Nonetheless, it would be cool if Loma can face Pacquiao.

However, you can't expect Loma to go up just because someone with big name wants to fight him. That would be a very wrong excuse to go up weight. A boxer should only go up if : one, he can no longer maintain the weight ; two, there is no more worthy opponent left in the current weight. And above those two, the boxer should make sure that he can adapt to the competition in the new upper weight class. In 135, there are still sellable current and upcoming big names as potential opponents. There are Haney and Lopez who both are very close to become mandatory challengers in WBC and IBF. And there are Berchelt and Tank Davis who I'm pretty sure would be moving in a year or two.

That doesn’t make any sense because the whole premise of our argument is that Pac is a LW sized man, so Loma will be fighting against a LW sized man. It just so happens that the LW sized man fights at WW because he can make up for his lack of size there u like Mikey.

So ye, you have communication issues.

Manny weighs 150 on fight night because he fights at WW. He’ll probably be 145 if he fought at 135 because he will naturally lose a bit of mass.

Every LW that has gone up to fight Pac has been bigger than him, that says it all.

He weighed 147 for his only fight at 135, 11 years ago when he fought David Diaz.

Yeah pretty much everyone he's fought at 147 has been bigger than him sans Bradley x 2 IIRC and JMM.

Fair enough, that basically clarifies my point that Pac is a LW sized guy fighting at WW whilst Loma is a SFW sized man fighting at LW.

Also pretty much confirms that Pac is more or less the same size now as he was at LW, just looks bigger because he doesn't have to starve himself as much. Mikey said it himself whether you’re fighting Pac at LW to WW you’re fighting the same guy.

If fight night weight is the only number that matters, as you so eloquently affirmed, then Pac should have no problem making 135. After all he can rehydrate all he wants.
My two cents Loma should NEVER go above 135. It's an original 8 division and he has a chace build a legacy as one the great lightweights. Pac would be a great name on the resume but Loma does not belong ouside of 135.

I think Pac could easily make 140. 135 might be difficult for the simple fact that he's been at 147 for so long, but I think that he could and be only slightly drained.

I agree that Loma shouldn't fight at 147 as welterweights not named Pac rehydrate into the 160s.

Pac could make 140 especially with how he's looking at right now.
BUT he will be sacrificing lean mass for every pound under that, so no, this fight is never going to happen because Loma won't risk his reputation going up in weight unless he's bankrupt.

Pac is eating 7,000-9,000 calories to keep the weight on to compete at 147.

Pac even this version would demolish Loma and I am 100% sure of this.
