He signed a contract didn't he? Agreeing to a rematch to be held where dictated by AJ's promoter? Forfeiting any and all rights until he fulfilled the rematch obligations? Reminds me of college kids who sign student debt contracts when they get into college. Then get their degree and suddenly whine how unfair all that massive debt is and how they want the government to pay off the debt for them. READ THE FK'ING CONTRACT! Before you sign! Simple.
This is correct. If AJ turned down the rematch it wouldn't matter. I would rather pay to watch Ruiz against Whyte, Parker, Usyk, Fury, Or Wilder
Joshua is not as bad or Ruiz as good as people are making out. The most likely result is AJ wins the rematch in a close fight. And Ruiz should demand the fight be in the USA. That's his right.
That's the point, the victory was so obvious that Ruiz has nothing to prove. He can just move on and continue making his name bigger.
Yeah, Eddie Hearn - the guy who built a multi million dollar boxing empire and landed a $1bn DAZN boxing contract - was dumb enough not to have a watertight rematch clause......... Give me a break
Ruiz was given a chance to fight for three titles despite not earning a mandatory shot at any of them on home soil for a career high payday and you don't think he sounds a little entitled by ruling out fighting in the former champ and still a much bigger draw's home turf. Hardly the reaction of a warrior IMO.
The fact is Ruiz was given the opportunity of a lifetime at home and he's now crying about potentially returning the favour. He signed the rematch clause and according to a lot of people is going to dominate Joshua again so don't see why he seems so desperate to secure home advantage again.
You know what happens though, is you win ONE FIGHT and you get delusional. It's not entirely his faulty though - Ruiz probably has all kinds of people whispering in his ear telling me that he way more significant in boxing than he actually is at this point.
Yeah, all Ruiz did was batter AJ about for the entire 7 rounds, put him on the canvas 4 times, and broke his will to continue fighting. -how dare he call himself a champion!
following on in that vein,,,but we're not Unified HW world chapion belt holders are we...well you may be ,
