I remember watching Helenius v Peter in 2011 (which is also the previous time they have aired boxing on national tv here) and even then everyone said Peter was shot and it was just an easy "name" to pad Helenius' record. Now 8 years later the Shot-o-meter on Peter must register immeasurable results and if Hughie doesn't get the KO he needs to retire immediately.
Toney softened Peter up over 10 years ago never been the same since. Hughie will stick and move in a one sided points win.
Looks like Hughie 'The Skirt' Fury will either have his testicles side by side on the canvas in round 1 or have an easy points win.
He had to deal with some rough house tactics tonight. That illegal left hand from Peter as the ref broke them up was a real cheap shot. Andre Ward would have been proud of some of those low blows too, there were loads. Even ref copped a cheap shot. I thought defensively, Fury was excellent. He showed intelligent footwork and lateral movement. What was disappointing though was that he was always looking for that right hand that was eluding him against Pulev. He does disguise it well at times but it’s the same shot over and over again. Defensively, he is so good especially when you consider that his opponents walk him down and don’t really respect his power. He’d make any heavyweight look silly trying to hit him. He’s still lacking variety in his attack though.
Great summary mate, totally agree. I think the one thing he also fails to do at times is get his distance right. You're spot on re the right hand. Too predictable. Hopefully he can push on now and maybe fight any of the four heavyweights fighting tomorrow next.
That was just a bizarre watch. Skinny Hughie doing ring a ring roses around an obese totally shot completely wild Peter . It was indeed a Nigerian Nightmare. And not a good one.
