Tbf mate, he has improved massively since his first few fights. Anyone looking at his first year in boxing would have agreed with you. It was the Lartey fight that convinced me of his potential. He showed that he has real resilience and demonstrated little tricks, especially with the way he puts his punches together that showed real improvement. He must be a trainer's dream because clearly he works hard in the gym.
Eddie will have it written into Koogan "the shill" Cassius contract that he cannot mention Dubois in any vid with him in it.
True mate...can’t believe he’s only 21, it’s just ridiculous. I’m on the Dubois train now, ‘choo chooooo’.
God, I'm having a horrible dual premonition of the future while not learning lessons from the past. Must Not Get Sucked Into Hype, Must Not Get Sucked Into Hype. Or we'll end up like rabid AJ fans and talking about Dubois opponents deserved paydays next. Dear God no!
Dubois should be commanding at least 65% of the next split mate, can’t wait to see where he is on the Forbes list soon
Poor Nathan was getting rocked to his boots by pretty much every jab - it must have felt like a mule kick.
It strangely reminded me of Degale vs Eubank earlier in the year where you realise in the first 30 seconds how wrong you was in all those posts on the forum the few weeks before haha. Gorman felt that power pretty early on and all that confidence just evaporated.
I personally would love to Bakole vs DDD next, I rate both highly. Won't happen though with Bakole signing with Matchroom.
I thought Dubois looked naive and predictable against Johnson, but fair play to him his improvements over 3 fights have been impressive. I picked him by KO tonight by the way so I'm going to revel in that a bit, but it was more because I wasn't sold on Gorman than being a big fan of Triple D. Gorman was taking shots of Cojanu that a big puncher would really make him pay for. I think they need to hold Dubois back for a couple of years. Let the big players have their moment in the sun then the division is wide open, and at 24 / 25 DDD could be an absolute monster.
I agree thres no point rushing him, don't do a Joshua go straight to world level and stop developing.
Dubois showed the natural aggression and focus of a world champion, and he has the power of an elite level HW. He has learnings to take from the performance but he has a natural fighting instinct and aggression. He should be fighting for a major world title by 2021 in my view. Gorman had a plan, but once he was caught in the 2nd, he shelled up and was just in survival mode. Everyone has a plan until they get hit.
He's fulfilling my prophecy as when I introduced Dubious to this place when he was a complete unknown commodity, I said he would be a future world champion.
