I've been hearing from super hardcore talent scouts online how this guy was the real deal and was gonna do a number on Dubois. Now that bandwagon lost a wheel and we are all on Dubois wagon now. Gormless vs pooie fury next up?
I heard the hype also but to be honest I never really watched the guy fight before. From what I had heard he was going to be a raw version of fury with lots of boxing skill. Well early on he looked decent enough skill wise and I thought ok this will be a good fight but as soon as Dubois hit him he lost all poise and started flailing about. He certainly looked very inexperienced in there. At 23 he is way behind Dubois at 21. Doesn't look to me like he will go much beyond British or European level. Another hype job exposed.
They told me this guy was slick, a fighting man born and bred. I didn't see it really but they told me wait and see big stiff Dubois is getting taken to school. Dear oh dear
He’s looked very impressive at times. There was nothing wrong with the hardcore talent spotters. Last night Gorman was **** poor and shelled up, for someone who was so confident in his sparring stories he was **** scared the second he walked in there last night and didn’t fancy it. I expected better from a fighting man and he extremely disappointed me.
Funny how when a young undefeated fighter looses he then becomes a hype job. He lost to the better man on the night that's all. I always said Dubois would win. Doesn't mean this is the end of the road for Gorman. Make your own decisions and stop listening to other people.

This post nailed it for me. 4 years ago a young lad called Dillian Whyte got sparked by Anthony Joshua for the British heavyweight title. He was written off, too. Now everyone’s shouting for him to have a crack at Wilder and he’s regarded by some to be a top 4 heavyweight. Let’s have some perspective. Dubois was brilliant, Gorman shelled up but judging from some of the stuff he’s done in his previous 16 fights, he’s a very good boxer with quality fundamentals.
Never bought into the hype. Gorman looked good against light hitting fighters who didn't pressure him. Usually always happens when fighters step up a level, and their forced to fight. He didn't have the power to keep Dubois off him.
Got his game plan totally wrong last night and panicked after feeling the raw power. Credit it to the lad for stepping up- he’ll come again. Certainly wasn’t a hype job either as hardly anyone had heard of him prior and Dubois was the betting favourite.
I think all his tactics, gameplan and composure went out the window as soon as he tasted Dubois' power which was in round 1. After that, instead of using his brain, he just fought on instinct and tried to swing wildly with his head down whenever Dubois was letting his shots go. Dubois was measuring and placing his shots a lot better though, I like how he kept the distance at mid range instead of getting too close and smothering his work. A very mature performance from young Dubois, and his power is REAL. Very impressed by Dubois, can't wait to see how far he can go.
The thing is with whyte he showed some promise against AJ, even hurting him at one point, it was a decent scrap and he was in the fight, a rematch has even been called for. But Gorman was pretty much exposed and dominated throughout, he couldn’t do much with Dubois. It did look like the occasion got to him more. It’s unfair to completely write the guy off though but it was so one sided I can see why some were disappointed. Could be a case of there being no shame in losing to a fighter as good and powerful as Dubois if he goes on to great things, and Gorman finding some form of success himself in the future?
