This is exactly how I feel. Just stepped up and got battered. It happens all the time people being built up and as soon as they fight someone decent that’s it. It’s going to happen soon with Benn, Kelly and probably others I cba thinking. It was always going to happen to Joshua when his luck ran out and someone wasn’t scared to have a go. People should be used to this. I’m not writing him off but I was never expecting much anyway based on the level he had been fighting at. He was still unproven. We’ll have to see what happens but based on last night it looks like he’ll get to a certain level again and the same thing will happen. It only means he’s a hype job if people have been saying he’ll go into world level and win. I’m not sure that’s been happening.
Yeah, but Whyte's stock went up with the Joshua fight. He did much better than most expected and it was soon reliably revealed that he'd been hampered by the shoulder injury (which was rumoured before the fight too). Joshua gave him a beating but he showed enough to suggest he was at least as good as his 16-0 record had suggested. The same can't be said of Gorman. He didn't look as good as many expected. He looked pretty awful, to be honest.
It doesn’t mean you hate someone because you rate another boxer and their skillset and assume they could trouble him.
There's definitely an element of favouring HW traveler "slicksters" beyond reasonable evidence tbh. That's not a pop at them before anyone starts it's just stating a fact. Tyson gets away with it as he's top tier charismatic and has got showboating down to a fine art.
Always has been since he’s turned pro. Beaten no one of any substance, has zero power (which believe it or not is important at heavyweight) and has been overhyped by several morons on here who reckon they know boxing. They don’t have a clue.
Now im not saying your wrong But he has been given a lot of praise by some very well thought of people in the game Cant all be wrong yet cant all be right Its all opinion really
A lot of hype for Gorman pre-fight, a lot on here backed him - now people are slating him? Give the lad a break - he lost against the ‘real deal’, and why is he the real deal? Because he beat a good fighter in Gorman so convincingly.
The last few lines of your post are very harsh. How can someone be a moron for backing what turned out to be the losing fighter? Some of us were wrong, some of us were right. It happens most weeks but there’s no need to be derogatory about it.
Some people on here need to realize that having power does not necessarily equate to lack of boxing skills. People just automatically assume that Dubois boxing skill is worse than Gorman's because of his power and maybe his build.
