Hes got skills blatantly, I don't think his chin is shaky, he was got at the back/side of the head a lot, messes your balance up, nothing dodge from Dubois, just how they landed with Nathan turning his head some..He needs to leave Hatton imo, he has zero head movement, just puts his gloves up high and takes them..I actually think he was stung early and couldn't get in to it. He is great with his legs for a big guy, can move really well, I just think with his skills he needs a better trainer. Thoughts, how far can he go ???
I'd never seen him before today. Had heard the Fury lads bigging him up as a great technician. But he had no jab, or plan B. Impression was that his physical condition was poor. He showed fear of the punches coming his way in the second and then gassed and got hurt. He needs to become a gym rat. He could make cruiser.
you reckon ?? doubt it very much imo, I think the strength of Dubois was just to much, I think he could shift a half a stone maybe if it improved his cardio, but he just looks the supple type to me, bit like Tyson, they'll never be chiselled
He goes the opposite of far, as in right down, way below into the rankings. Into a deep, dark cave... like Gollum from Lord of The Rings, where he will reflect on his life and ask himself repeatedly... "Who am I?" Honestly, he fought worse than terribly... had he even put in some type of effort or composure in his performance like Lartey... maybe he could go somewhere... but he was blow out of that ring completely.... Personally, he should retire... unless he wants to be a journeyman beating the Cojanu's and getting competitive with the fringe Sokolowski's Gorman is done, on that performance.
he should stick to domestic level for now and try to become the UK king. he needs a proper trainer and needs to get in shape. he's no ruiz, who is very muscular under the blubber.
Agreed, wouldn't throw the jab in case he ate something, threw in desperation, very uncomfortable and gassed a bit down to it
A trainer can't work miracles... he can only fine tune what you already have, and last night Gorman didn't show he had much of anything to be shaped. Nobodies like Lartey put up more effort against Dubois.
He could still win a British title somewhere down the line since most of the bigger names have no interest in it and Dubois himself would soon be looking for betters things as well.
Maybe not cruiser but he can get in better shape. He's got some serious lard around his middle. I'm the same height and I'm 190. He weighed 256 today.
Gorman's left hook was funny. He kept leaning inward with his head while throwing it. I think it was meant to be a defensive measure, but it left his chin open. Should have kept his head tucked next to his shoulder, because Dubois countered that hook a few times. Gorman needs to better his jab. It was his biggest flaw last night. He kept just waiting behind that high guard, looking to counter. But that **** is hard to do when you have no sense nor control over the distance. Jab, feint, throw in some head movement. Change levels. Give the opponent something to think about besides that counter left hook.
