Washington wouldn't have a chance. His head would be snapping back violently with every shot Arslanbek landed. I give it 4-5 rounds tops due to Washington running around the ring like Rice did as a means of sheer survival. Some on here were saying that Washington is close to another shot at a title. LOL. Yeah ok. In reality he's an opponent at this stage and should be sacrificed to prospects. Arslanbek and Dychko especially need to be put over - The former actually has good backing with fights televised and a minor belt to boot so a fight in Canada might be possible. What do you guys think? How would it go?

I think he will be a really serious threat to everyone in the division pretty soon.

Yeah not even close tbh. I'm happy for Washington and I predicted him to win today, but yes, Makhmudov knocks him out in about 4 most.

Lol, Makhmudov has 0 defense. Not saying that Washington beats him. Gerald has a shitty gas tank and wouldn't be able to capitalize, even if he hurt Makhmudov.
But that dude is a brutal KO in the making.

He's working that jab and ability to cut off the ring. He's going to be a real problem. He has that Beterbiev death walking terror vibe to him.

I expect any legitimate prospect would, though maybe not as viciously as Makhmudov might. It was a nice KO and I’m glad he’s saved his career, but he’s got his ceiling and it’s not particularly high one. His past losses and the fact he was being soundly beaten up until the knockout prove that. On a sidenote- I wouldn’t mind seeing him against Dubois next, be a good first fight in the US for him.

We will see what your boy can do. Who is his best pro win? Maybe he can do some things or maybe he’s Tye Fields Jr.

If he wants to step it up there’s plenty of guys out there. Just have to pay them and make the fights.

If he’s ready for contenders his team will make the move. So far they haven’t shown faith that he can do so in their matchmaking.

He has legitimate amateur pedigree. Tye Fields was a joke - Basketball player who thought he was a boxer. Zero chin or skills. Whether he pans out or not let's not compare him with that joke. Arslanbek has been matched fine for a guy with only 8 fights he faced Gibson and Rice in back to back fights. Two very game journeyman. Not sure what you're on about he's been matched how a HW prospect should be matched.

He's made big improvements in the gym. Watch the Rice fight. Wasn't nearly as easy to hit against a guy far superior to anyone he's been in with. News flash. Most of the top heavies have questionable defense and chins currently - prospect, contender and champion alike.

I’m responding to the thread which says he walks through a tested contender and former title challenger like a knife thru butter.

If he’s ready for that why is he wasting his time (and ours) fighting cans?

If his team, who see him every day in training, think he’s that good already the matchmaking needs to reflect that. But obviously they don’t.

If he wants to play he needs to get in the sandbox. Otherwise this thread is nonsense.

Alright. Do you want him to succeed? Do you think he can succeed? Furthermore which HW prospects do you rate currently? Which belt holder do you think is the best?

I don’t care if he succeeds. If he doesn’t someone else will.

This thread is about a novice whose best win is over a 10-3 guy positing that he absolutely destroys a contender and former title challenger without resistance.

If Ivan Drago here can walk the walk he needs to be on a steeper matchmaking curve if we’re going to have these discussions.

As for ranking the belt holders, I rate Fury above them, then Wilder then Ruiz. But I think Wilder might take the rematch over Fury, which would change that.

I don't have a magic matchmakers wand. Sorry. This is the kind of opponent I would like to see him in with next or soon - I think he would win convincingly. Happy now?
