DD could well be very flawed, it's just that nothing gorman showed last night did anything to expose those flaws. (Assuming they exist) . At face value you have to give credit to DD of course. Gorman had figured out going in that DD was/is vulnerable to a leFT hook. But when he couldn't land it well enough As a lunging lead punch he had no plan "B"! DD is big stong rand tall with very sound fundamentals. He won't be beaten by someone with no plan, no strategy's, and no explosiveness like gorman was last night. Gorman would've lost to aj in similar fashion and DD would've lost to AJ conqueror Ruiz in similar fashion as AJ.

Quite possibly the most cringey thread title I've seen on this form.

How long did you sit and think that one out you utter nonce.

I’m still trying to make sense of what Gorman was trying to do last night but I bet it wasn’t what he and Hatton spent 12 weeks doing in the gym. He’s not recklessly traded like that in 16 fights so why throw the game plan out the window and trade with a big puncher like Dubois? He actually landed a couple of peach shots but they didn’t phase Dubois.

He hardly used the jab, retreated to the ropes, his footwork was static, didn’t move his head...these are all things he normally does. I can only assume he felt the power and his backside fell out and perhaps, with all the personal stuff going on out of the ring, he just felt like a tear up.

Beating an opponent who has height reach excellent fundamentals and great power takes something special. Gorman needed something exceptional to win. Ruiz had the granite chin to take AJ bomb the speed to pounce like a cat and a big dig. Gorman needed something similar or a very awkward style to confuse DD. He just didn’t have this. No shame in that. I don’t think he bottled it either. DD is a sitting duck for a left hook but in order to land it an opponent has an awful lot to overcome IMO.

Have you seen the clips of him literally windmilling head down in a complete throwback to the schoolyard? I've not seen a pro fighter do that often. I couldn't believe it when I rewatched it.

I think you're right. Dubois is a monster, like a bigger more technically sound Efe Ajagba and apparently, Gorman has had a hell of a lot of **** to deal with outta the ring.

You need to be some physical specimen to deal with blokes that strong and powerful, regardless of your skillset.

True bud. The windmilling was amateur. He talked earlier last week about doing what Dubois does...he said if he wants to box he’ll happily box him but if he wants to stand in the middle and trade in the first round then he’ll do that as well. I thought he was just talking up the fight, i’m amazed he was stupid enough to actually do it.

I think people are being a bit harsh on Gorman. I still rate his skills and the guy undeniably has heart.

He fought well off the ropes at times, caught Dubois with some good counters, and got his attention with at least 1 uppercut that I remember. If he had more power it might have been a different story.

Dubois had his tactics spot on and boxed very well. I don't see many heavies coping with what Gorman had to last night much better.

Looking good against bums and has-beens is one thing. He stepped in with a 'live' opponent and got found out.

I’ll take that onboard, I don’t want to come across that way. I come on this forum because I feel the majority of the posters do know boxing, but the Gorman hype has been irritating when there has never been any substance in any of his career. I don’t know if it’s the Hatton connection with him which has added to it, obviously a boxer who I would say we all respect, because it was painfully obvious to me that he is nothing remotely special and would lose whenever he stepped up. Even against s baby like DDD.

Hughie Fury, who I’m not a fan of tbh, gets slated on this forum for his level but see what happens if he ever boxes Gorman. It wouldn’t even be a race. I doubt it happens because they are related, but Fury wins at a canter.

You’ve got Warren saying the winner of last nights fight beats Joshua and posters on here are lapping it up. I was just surprised at peoples naivety. If I was Josh I wouldn’t even consider the likes of Gorman for sparring.

There was some serious hype behind Gorman, remember all those threads from weeks/ months ago about him being the real deal, and putting on a clinic against Dubois???

I knew Dubois always had Gormans number, but I didn't think Gorman would be as pathetic as he was yesterday. That was really bad, I am really dissapointed... and I wonder how they could have sparred 300 rounds, with Gorman having the upper hand.

Fair play mate, I guess there’s nowt wrong with being passionate about what you believe in.

I heard that they’re on about chucking Gorman in with Joyce. I have no idea why they would chuck him in with him after the beating he’s just took. Out the chip pan into the fire.

Totally agree bud, that would be a terrible fight back for him. Another KO defeat. If that fight does take place his team are not looking after him.

I don't think so, zero head movement, no jab, and did not have a clue how to avoid Dubois left. Also Dubois matched him for speed.
Gorman was frankly crap and he could lose 7lbs from his belly,Dubois at 21 has shown improvement in his shot selection, his movement and his defence and he has real power.

Half an inch height difference ,and Gorman had a17lbsweight advantage, and 4 more fights under his belt.
