im British I had Joyce by 115-112. Maybe 114-112. Jennings was sharp, accurate and landed what seemed to me the hurtful blows. Yes people are saying JJJ was injured, but it was from an absolute peach of a body shot from Jennings while JJJ was trying to mimick haye/groves Bad cards....but rightful winner
I didn't score it, but I think yours seem about right to me. Big Joe hit a lot of gloves, and Jennings landed the eye catching shots for me.
Tbh I stopped scoring it when the fight became really boring, I think Jennings maybe knicked a couple of rounds or so and was definitely making Joyce miss more and was more accurate/effective with shots when he tried but Joyce imho did more than enough to win by sheer output. For what was effectively a high level and technically pretty good fight it really was a frustrating affair to watch. Joyce definitely did enough to prove himself as a force though, he took some good shots and took the win against a crafty opponent.
Yeah Joyce is a force because he beat a old has been Jennings who was never considered to be anything special. He took some punches from a guy who isn't known for being a good puncher. So that means what? Joyce is still a slow unskilled, fatso and he is lucky to be in a such a weak era for heavyweights.
Tyson was right, the fight was lose / lose for Joe. Usyk should be licking his lips at facing him, or any fighter with movement an pop
I found it that boring I left the flat and went shop with my mates, I came back to a scrawled note from my dad and no microwave, I think I let him drink too much
I gave Jennings maybe 4 rounds max Plus he had a point taken so it was a clear win for Joyce imo. Of course Jennings landed the better shots but he just didn't do enough of it and was in the back foot most of the night. Joyce has some glaringly obvious flaws, but the great thing about the current crop is all the heavyweights do which makes it so interesting...a lot of styles make fights type matchups. Joyce is so slow and wide open and he's not a knockout artist but my god is he relentless. I think he's really entertaining to watch due to his style which is what we want as fans.
I don't mind but we still haven't found it and the note said he wanted to make a pot noodle at his mates house With about 7 spelling mistakes
Can’t complain with your analysis. What annoys me is the cards....which everyone knew they would be. Although Jennings lost, cards like that can affect a mans earnings.
He's less than a year older than Joyce, who has pretty much shut out Artur Szpilka (who gave Wilder a reasonable run before being KTFO), beaten Mike Perez (who has only otherwise lost against Breidis and Povetkin) was ahead on the cards recently against Oscar Rivas (who Dillian Whyte's is getting credit for taking a big risk against) until tragedy struck at the end of the last round of a competitive fight. He is not that old or has been, and has made a good account of himself against very good opponents - beating him doesn't make you any kind of GOAT but it is a reasonable mark on your CV to make a claim for being contender. It may not be the strongest, but it certainly is not the weakest.
He's top but he doesn't know much about Boxing, he's a Mayweather is the GOAT type a guy. But imo his biggest sin is think Canelo will be a top 5 PFP ATG
