I think boredom won at the end of the day, I thought I’d watch it to see why so many people are so high on Joyce. But honestly it was terrible, maybe even worse than watching hughie fury fight.
I don't understand why Bye Bye took this fight? What does he gain beating Joyce who I don't value high at all and knowing that the judges would be protecting the home talent? Was Joyce really the "biggest" profile name he could get? Either way, Bye Bye is done and I still don't see much in Joyce at all.
Completely agree. I rate Hughie very lowly as a fighter and Joyce is not any better. Both are C level heavyweights at best
Joyce won 9-3 mainly on activity. But he got hit way toi easy by a non-puncher. What would happen if a puncher nails him.
Naaaaaaaah, for casuals maybe, but no, cherry picking excluded him from being talked about like that and some dodgey decisions and Fluids
Jennings is a fine boxer and among the top 20. If Joyce was so unskilled he would have lost that night. Joyce just showed that at the very least, he will be a fringe contender.
I scored the fight 117-110, 3 rounds to Jennings. Being competitive in a round and actually winning a round are 2 different things. He performed well, better than I expected. Kind of like what he did vs VK. Even though he lost that fight, he made a name for himself. This fight proved he's still a decent test level fighter for contenders. He will be given more jobs like this. He earned it.
I had it about the same. Joyce didn't outclass him by any means, but he generally did enough most rounds to nick it on activity alone. Jennings simply didn't do enough.
Right then you realize Jennings isn't a fine boxer. He is a has been. Joyce got the win because they were fighting in England. He struggled with a mediocre fighter who is past his prime. Joyce isn't anything special.
I literally fell asleep. Luckily the loud tones of Steve Bunce woke me up for the Dubois-Gorman fight. He seems a decent bloke but I can't stand watching Joyce. He never throws with intent. He's whatever the opposite of explosive is (implosive ?). Just relentless constant arm punching. Not quite Hughie Fury dull but not far off. He probably did enough to win (i was asleep for the last 3 rounds) but no way does this style, including his porous defence, beat the top HWs.
536 posts in six years.... and you're calling others on here slow? I guess typing with your nose while mouthing the words is time-consuming, though....
You think they robbed Jennings? And Jennings isn't a has been, nor is he past his prime. Jennings won 3 fights last year and gave Rivas a good fight. Don't berate Jennings because you have an agenda against Joyce. Jennings is just Jennings. He is nothing special. Just a fine boxer who is borderline top 20. Joyce beating him doesn't mean that Joyce is anything special. It just shows that Joyce isn't some bum and he can compete at a higher level.
