    do y’all think it’s likely that film of him fighting still exists? If so do you think it’ll ever be released ? Will we ever see the Pittsburgh windmill in action?

    Any film from then not stored correctly or transferred is gone.

    Is some rich collector/speculator ******* holding onto footage that he shows aboard his yacht during lunar eclipses whilst drinking baby's blood? That is another question.

    Seamus pretty much summed it up. If it's not in the hands of some rich collector that had it transferred to another medium its likely ruined.

    More to the point, if there is footage out there and it gets released, what will be the impact on his legacy?

    I can confidently predict only one thing: that if he looks good, his reputation goes through the roof, and that if he looks bad, the entire era including him will get trashed by the casuals.

    It's terrible that we don't have anything fr him. I don't care how he would look like (his style wouldn't be pretty that's for sure) but just being able to see such a master in action would be amazing.

    Off-topic question - is it true that Fitz vs Maher fight was filmed? If so, the possibility to find this fight is even smaller...

    This is not accurate. Nitrate films can survive, even under poor conditions. Its less likely but Ive found Nitrate films in deplorable conditions and salvaged them.

    As I understand it, they tried to film it but failed.

    I've heard Fitz KOed him before the cameras were going, but that makes no sense to me. Why wouldn't they have them ready for the start?
