Why is Calzaghe not being heavily critized for blatently ducking Pavlik?

you can call it ducking if joe is a Lt Heavy and Pavlik is a middle weight .. Money wise it doesn't make since for him to fight pavlik this late in his career unless pavlic bring the money ,which he doesn't.

Joe said he would of moved down and Pavlik said he would go up. Now he's going after the Jones who he said is a pointless fight because he's shot.

Well, were you or weren't you WRONG in this statement? "Pavlik is currently busy beating crap fighters, that never has been or never will be anything."

The only crap fighter, as I stated, was Lockett, his last.

Please don't play the high and mighty role after making a post like that. So yes, it WAS a fanboy post that you made with no objectivity or even truth to it. Nothing but your "unbiased" opinion on a fighter you obviously don't like.

BTW...I didn't say you were a Calzaghe fanboy, despite often coming to his rescue and sporting him in your av.

I was wrong, because I thought Pavlik had another one lined up.

It wasn't an attempt to play high and mighty, I was fairly sure, you said I am a fanboy of Calzaghe, which I am not. He just beat my hometown hero. I just acknowledge his skills, and that is why I said what I said.

I come to any fighters rescue that are being unjustly fired at. And it is unjust to fire at JC for not fighting Pavlik. I just ended up being unjust to Pavlik in the process.

he also said Pavlik was not on his level.

So Joe is in a situation where if he fights Jones, he's ducking Pavlik, and if he fights Pavlik, he's ducking Jones.

No, it's just in a little way when you see how Joe C called out Pavlik, said Jones is nothing, and now had this change of heart where it's not Pavlik who's nothing and Jones who's a great fight. If all that had NOT happened before, I doubt as many would make a big deal out if it. Fighters are to be held accountable for their words.

Thanks for the clarification BTW. :thumbsup

But what would be the point of fighter a fighter who has two defenses of his title and one elite fighter on his resume.
Pavlic has accomplished even less the Jermain at this point and is even less known.

For a fighter like joe who has made a name for himself and is bout to ride off into the sunset and looking for one more payday it doesn't make since.
Im sure if pavlic was a good household name with a decent following Im sure he would take the fight.

No, you're thinking of Jones and Darius M. Jones was the established champ @ 175 for a long time and a star. He cannot be expected to move down to 168 and go to Wales for a fight. All Joe had to do was move up half a stone instead of making a career with mostly terrible defenses.

How can he be ducking Jones? Jone's is done, past it! He said it himself! "A Fight against Roy Jones is meaningless"

Dont try to spin this one, Calzaghe knows if he didn't fight Jones he wouldn't recieve critizism

You know as well as I know that boxers say this and that; trying to build up their popularity by saying they wish to meet someone. For all we know, Pavlik might noot stand by his wishes to face JC. Only a signed deal is worth trusting.

And no problem. No reason to have misunderstandings mudding a debate.

WHen boxers contradict themselves as much as Joe has, I think giving him some **** for it is acceptable.

You're right, Pavlik might be full of **** as well. But the way to start a fight is to have both guys agree to it. Only one has so far w/o retracting it.

You know this (AA/KP) has been in the works for months don't you? HBO has had a tentative date for months. Calzaghe called out Pavlik. With Joe claiming he wouldn't be fighting for long, Kelly took the offer when available. It is Joe that backed out. Won't even talk about it now. LIED and said it was Pavlik that didn't want the fight. Not my fault Joe can't make good on what comes out of his mouth. And the Kessler that just fought DOES NOT beat Pavlik. You better hope it was a fluke.

Team Pavlik calling for Calzaghe over and over is enough proof that they really DO want it and Calzaghe's team responding with "Pavlik isn't ready" is also good enough proof that Pavlik's team are serious enough to force these guys to come up with that response to make the Jones fight sound better, which it hardly is.

Again I repeat, I'm picking Calzaghe to dominate this fight and win it but refusing this fight for a FAR easier fight in Jones is a pathetic move considering Calzaghe wanted NO PART of Jones in his prime.
