Its not that simple. Now they make zero money. That haymaker fight can come from anyone. Realistically Canelo is only obligated to fight at 160. How many mega fights at 160?
Precisely. GGG thinks he's this shot caller and can get away with fighting welterweights, super welterweights, and guys like Stephen Rolls and dictate terms to the A side.
Just because he signed a bad deal with Ward, it doesnt mean that he has to sign a bad deal with Canelo. Not to mention even if he dominates Canelo he would still loose a UD in his backyard and wont get a rematch. So he"ll end up fighting Canelo for almost nothing. If you deduct step aside money, taxes, coach and manager salaries he'll be lucky to make a mil for being robbed by DLH.
And that's what DAZN gets for (over)paying ridiculous money to Golovkin. They should have negotiated all those possible fights (like Canelo vs. Golovkin III) with Canelo first.
How many chances does GGG get? What entitles GGG to shot after shot...he's had two chances and couldn't get the job done. Even if you think he won, he certainly didn't "whoop" anybody, he had 24 rounds and couldn't make a dent in Canelo...what would make you think he'd do better in a 3rd fight? Furthermore what in God's name would make you think Canelo would be worried about fighting him again? GGG didn't want the fight on the champs terms, so they moved on, simple as that.
"Most of Mexico"...I assume you've personally spoken to every Mexican citizen to formulate this position?
If he dominates Canelo he will lose by UD? lol Refarin form comments like this if you want to be taken serious. 1 million dollars for a shot at super stardom and make tens of millions in his next fights. Or 1 million dollars to fight Yarde and do nothing for your stock.
Excellent post! Is GGG the only fighter allowed to fight weak competition because he's waiting nd hoping for a payday fight? GGG had the fight but he thought he could decide where the fight would be held, not sure why he thought he would have that much pull. He already demanded 4-5 times his biggest payday for the first fight, then he wants more for the rematch, then he doesn't let Canelo use the gloves he wants, then he has to approve of the judges, and now he wants to choose the venue. FFS, GGG needs to know his place.
The bottom line is nobody is going to fight fishnets and Clenelo for nothing. Everyone knows they are crooks and if they want a fight in Vegas they got to pay. Money talks bull**** walks. And Kovalev can make that same money fighting Yarde at home.
Only on message boards can a boxer fight 24 hard rounds against Golovkin (and win the rematch) and get accused of ducking.
Do tell us how they make money with him fighting fights that can't generate 50 millions. Anything less and they lose more money.
