Allen claims he is two fights away from fighting AJ Guys starting to believe his own hype Motivation is good but wow
I need to see a ten minute plus David Price interview on IFL before making a prediction on this fight! If he shows any signs of gassing whilst getting emotionally involved just talking about the fight, it will be a determining factor!
Price has a good chance if he lets his hands go from the start. Allen has little defence and is slower than Diane Abbot doing sums. But Price hasn't let his hands go properly in years. He fights like he's scared of his own shadow. So i still fancy Allen to take Price beyond round 5 after which he'll collapse in a exhausted heap. Allen tko mud rounds.
As the fight gets closer I have lost all my confidence for Price, no way he can do what Ortiz, Yoka and Whyte couldn't and stop Allen early. So now I've been mentally preparing myself for Saturday by rewatching Price v Thompson II and Price v Hammer to prepare for a Pricey mental breakdown. Then I'll get to Price v Thompson I, Price v Teper and Price v Povetkin to prepare for a sudden one-punch KTFO. I'll pass Price v Kuzmin, surely he won't quit against Allen now?
I can only see it going 2 ways and both favour Allen. Either he'll get Price mid-late, which seems to be a default bet for many (6 rounds or so), or (just as likely IMO) he gets him in 2 or 3. If Kash Ali was fit enough to have refrained from biting for another 2 rounds, even he would have stopped Price.
Get yourselves prepared for more of the "Walking in an Allen Wonderland" stuff, along with some X Factor story style narrative "he almost retired, he almost quit, 12 months later and he's on the verge of big things, potentially very big things". That's what beating Browne and Price, live on Sky, can do for you.
What a fight this is. Just suspend your passion for boxing and the desire to see high quality match-ups on Saturday night and enjoy this for what it is. I honestly think Allen is going to charge at Price with absolute bombs as soon as the bell goes. Unmissable fight.
Honestly it’s a brilliant card if you take away the PPV. this and Chisora - Szpilka have so much potential to go either way, even the main event.
Yes agreed. Take away PPV and the only flaw is that Okolie is not in a hard fight. Saturday night is definitely up there this year in the debate about what is the best night of boxing this year on paper, with Thurman v Pacquiao too - which I think is a very good clash of styles.
After watching both of their last fights, I can’t see how Allen doesn’t starch him Allen in the ring with Price the night he fought Ali, Price would have been crushed Allen by KO
