I read that TJ said he quit to his face. Kinda ****ed up. No class.

TJ gets sparked out next fight against anyone top 5-10.

Quigley AND Melian beaten on the same card.

2 red hot amateur prospects found wanting on the pro stage.

Not surprised Quigley lost. Fair play to Johnson.

Because, when it comes to predicting amateur to pro translations...

I only briefly caught the sixth and seventh rounds on my phone (spent the previous five balling my gf and then hopped in the shower and went to bed after seeing Johnson was doing well), how did it end? Did the ref just allow Quigley to get hit a slew of times before waving it off?

And what did Taureano do afterwards to elicit that kind of reaction?

For real? I wouldn't have expected that from Johnson. Pretty messed up if that's the case.

I heard a little buzz about Melian, but it seemed like any hype Quigley had went out the door with the Hernandez bout.

As far as Irish middleweights go, his ceiling is closer to John Duddy than Andy Lee. There's still entertaining spots for him as an undercard fighter, but this confirmed what we saw from the Hernandez fight that he had a lot to do to get to world caliber.

Yeah, it was pretty much a sustained unpleasant to watch beatdown from the 3rd round to the stoppage, not sure what Ingle was thinking letting it go on for as long as he did. Quigley had a vacant look in his eyes for the last 3 or 4 rounds. And the 9th was the worst of all, he was pulverized. I got uncomfortable watching it around the 5th.

As far as the reaction, Tureano was praising him, saying he hit hard, so Quigley came over to congratulate him, and when he did, he told Quigley to his face, you quit. But he didn't, he was pulled out, then when Quigley pushed back, he wanted to argue. Finally Tureano just took his word for it. Then after Quigley walked off, he started running his mouth about I guess GB and the producers of the show, badmouthing them, I was only half paying attention at that point, but they cut his mic. He didn't come away looking very good at all.

    Yeah and no.

I agree with this to a point and never saw anything in Quigley myself but the hype was because of his amateur credentials which were top class.

No 1 ranked in the world, world silver,European gold,he won 33 fights in a row and that at the highest level. He obviously never justified the hype but there was good reason he had it.

The way he looked when won the european gold, I thought he was gonna be a great pro. I'm surprised this is his ceiling. Maybe he has already declined.

He was a World Championship silver medallist and European champion.

He was a LOT more than some national champion.

Taureano is an emotional guy (he was literally in tears on the way to the ring to face Willie Fortune on Showtime once), so I could see him allow his emotions to get the better of him following a nice comeback win.

Didn't think Quigley was this bad, that was savage. His sister must have been trying to get him pulled, he had no chance after 5 or 6 rounds.
